I am sure that most expected some sort of news on the coaching situation by now. Is this “telling”?

I think it indicates that it is possible that Jerry is on the fence about keeping certain coaches, including Garrett.

Of course, there could be other valid reasons that no announcements have been made yet. I’m just sayin’....

They did say Jerry wanted 24-48 hours to “marinate”.
Sources also say Jason told staff and other coaches to give everything 24-48 hours for everything to “settle”. Something’s up....

I however, also think Jerry just wants attention. He knows the Cowboys will always get clicks, media attention, views, spotlight, etc. You think he’s going to release his info the day other teams release their coaches? Nope. Gotta do it a separate day so you get all the attention and spotlight.

Jerrah is hoping the Giants sign a coach so Garrett won't be facing him in the same division. It's a waiting game. Garrett will probably be the next Giants coach.

It is definitely costing Garrett a chance to interview with the Giants. So Barnum and Bailey may have a method to their madness.

There are a few possibilities that come to mind as to why this is taking longer than expected (milking the news cycle, allowing Jason ample time to make the rounds, certain emotional attachments, etc.), but none of those involve Garrett's retention or his staff unless the new guy is open to it.

Garrett can interview. His contract ends on Jan 14. He can sign a contract that starts on Jan 15 anytime.
