Jerrah is hoping the Giants sign a coach so Garrett won't be facing him in the same division. It's a waiting game. Garrett will probably be the next Giants coach.
The Giants are not going to hire Jason Garrett as head coach. Their fan base would revolt just like ours would if Jerry keeps him.

Nope, Jerry just wanted to control the news cycle and he pretty much has.
Imagine if that were the case. How big a eunuch and company man would Jason be for not alerting one of his media contacts that it was a done deal and he was out?

Which goes back to why Jerry loves Jason so much in the first place.

But personally, I think Jerry is just having that tough a time letting go of his beloved adopted son.

Should turn this into a prime time event on ESPN called "The Decision 2020".

Garrett will be named Stephen assistant (to keep him around). Jerry will hire a lame coach (Dan Campbell or Hue Jackson or something like that) and mid way through the season when things are not going well with the fans, the lame coach will be fired and Garrett named interim coach

works?

Sound like a scheme they would draw

Every other topic on sports talk today has been the Cowboys coaching situation.

And that’s part of the problem being the owner/GM. Your ownership and being an attention ***** gets in the way of doing your GM job. Also how you will never fire yourself as GM even though you have a terrible record since 96.

Maybe Rhule is the target and they want to wait until after the Baylor game tomorrow

I am sure that most expected some sort of news on the coaching situation by now. Is this “telling”?

I think it indicates that it is possible that Jerry is on the fence about keeping certain coaches, including Garrett.

Of course, there could be other valid reasons that no announcements have been made yet. I’m just sayin’....

Of course it's telling. If I could gamble on this and nothing is said by tomorrow, I'd bet the house Garrett stays.

Could be. Could be that it's some other College Coach. Could be that it's somebody else holding something up. Could be that they already have a deal in place with somebody so there is no hurry, at this point. Could be that they are looking at somebody like Stoops who would have to hire a replacement for the Renegades GM and HC. XFL season starts in Feb. I think so that could also be a possibility.

They are just gonna let his contract expire and announce he won't be back. Might be a week or two, otherwise they are actually firing him if they announce it now and pretty sure they don't want to do that. They are not going to be in a hurry.

They probably already have a deal waiting on the coach they want anyways, so I am not worried yet.
