I think Jerry realizes he has inhibited Jason from succeeding based on his (Jerry's) micromanaging. Maybe knows he forced Marinelli and others on him and believes Garrett could have succeeded if Garrett chose his own coordinators.

It's really not that hard to fire a terrible coach..

Heck I'll do it!, give me a call Jerry ...I'll do it for free
I second this

theres no way i would wait any longer his walking papers would have been drawn up during the eagles game and delivered after the Commanders game

This is basically another form of, “What if Jason happens to defy all odds, overcome his own incompetence, actually develop some real football intelligence, and learns how to coach, and becomes successful how will Jerry feel, after putting that much investment in him?”

Man some of you guys are overly dramatic. Lol. You guys are going no-where. Even if Garrett stays. Lol.

Idk, I might be done.

I've taken a lot of pride in never missing a Dallas game for years and years. I once ran a mile in the rain to get to a sports bar before kickoff because both my cable and my jeep weren't working that Sunday.

But this year I just didnt care anymore, watching Dallas has been painful this year. I missed 3 games and didn't even care.

If JG comes back then I expect I'll be take-it-or-leave-it on Sundays. The rest of the NFL is so much more fun to watch, Dallas is just cluelessly playing outdated football and then reminding us of "the process".

I'll still be a Dallas fan but I'll watch other teams more if this charade continues into 2020

let’s see who wins...jerry jones and his ego (garrett is his handpicked and groomed coach) and emotions (his close personal relationship) vs jerry jones the businessman and football guy because those sides of jerry both know garrett isn’t the guy!

Jerry is between a rock and a hard place because he broke the first cardinal rule of business. He allowed the relationship between himself and his underling to become a close personal friendship.

I still believe we have the talent to win now. So with the new coach I will be expecting immediate results. Missing the playoffs again next year would be a huge disappointment

I will. I stayed gone and didn’t watch much at all since around week 7 or 8. I’m only back out of anticipation that Garrett is gone. If he remains the coach, I’m out for good or at least until Garrett is gone and Jerry no longer is making the decisions. I’ve got zero problem. Leaving this team. It hasn’t been fun for a very long time.
this team hasn't been much fun to watch since 1995

Man look

slim been here 10 years as HC And 3 as OC and hasnt got the job done

Let him walk and be done
I'm confident that's going to happen. And I like your approach to it - a simple, fact based comment rather than coming from the misplaced anger and need to fabricate a fantasy grudge that we see from some.

What you guys don’t get is it doesn’t matter what the fans think. Jerry is the only one that matters and he is torn.

Agreed. This isn't a situation where the team needs to be rebuilt. A better coaching staff, a solid draft and a key acquisition or two could have us right back on top of the division with a chance to win some playoff games.

He is stuck between a rock and a dumb place.

Jerry KNOWS that 90 percent of the fans and the Dallas media wants Garrett gone. I THINK that Jerry ALSO BELIEVES that not retaining Garrett is the wrong thing to do. (His view not necessarily mine).

So do you let a guy walk knowing (in his mind) it’s the wrong play and placate the masses, or do you keep Garrett knowing that the fans are going to “nut out” and that the media is going to be on Garrett for the entire next year bashing the club at every turn?

I think Jerry sees this as a no win proposition.

What Jerry might do is “go rogue” and say hey, I think this is the wrong play, but I’m doing this solely for the media and the fans. Wouldn’t that be an interesting turn of events?

That way if Garrett succeeds somewhere else he can stick it to the Dallas media. Interesting. Very interesting.

It is amazing how so many want so badly for it to be true that they can “will it” into existence by wanting it to be true. Lol.

If Jerry is stuck then it is his hardship and his rock. I highly doubt there is anywhere close to 10% in support of retaining Garrett. It is likely just one reluctant individual that is having issues with moving forward.

Or like me with no hope releasing Garrett really resolves our issues with Jerry.
