It’s not good, guys. I’m not buying the “respect” argument. Today (Thursday) will be his third hour-long meeting with Garrett.

Think about it - if they were letting his deal expire or going in another direction, this wouldn’t take 3 hours.

My guess is that they’ve offered Garrett a front office position but he still wants to coach so they’re at an impasse.

Jerry is very sensitive about the fan base and he doesn’t want them to turn on him. But he also really wants to keep Garrett.

My greatest fear: Jerry intentionally drags this out so that in a few weeks he can say that he interviewed 5 coaches but none of them is better than what we have; Garrett gets one more year to prove himself.

I’m afraid at this point this might even be the most probable outcome.

My thread was deleted, but my friend told me Garrett will be extended 2020. He says he is friends with Garrett and they talked a bit during Christmas. I hear they are delaying it to avoid casual backlash.

Hope it was a joke

I hope its a joke which isn't funny. If Garrett is resigned I won't be watching the Cowboys. Probably go to another team and be a Cowboy hater.

If the owner doesn't care about it's fans and wanting to win, why should we care about the team?

just a weird situation...and one that does not make any sense at all unless jerry already has his guy he is waiting on and garrett has no interest in another hc position next season. giants, browns, panthers...they are all moving quickly in their searches.
No team will hire Garrett as head coach without their fan base revolting. I think Jerry will "promote" Jason in the organization to help him save face and still be able to say other teams were interested.

I’m not buying the respect argument either.

At this point anything, but Garrett continuing as the HC!!!!!!!! If he resigns Garrett, Jerry does not care about his fan base AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does Jerry and Stephen, even realize how difficult delaying this decision is, for the 95% of Dallas fans who wanted Garrett released from his contract YESTERDAY!!!!!

This is so annoying!!!

LOL....bunch of Drama Queens here expecting that things will change once our new and improved Yes man Scape-goat HC is hired.
OFF with his head(Garrett) and prepare the Guillotine for the new HC and new OC when we're still going 3 and out and kicking field goals once again weekly against good teams!

I predict Clappy the Clown gets a 3-5 year extension and an all new staff. If that happens I just hope everyone who says they are done with this team is as serious as I am.
