Jason Garrett isn't going to be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys moving forward, unless he is. We have entered Day 6 of this bizarre dance and the Cowboys are in the same position they were aft...

Jerry loves the spotlight. He's going to bask in the limelight as long as he can. Any real football organization Garrett would have been let go already

The cowboys will always be an entertainment based organization rather than a football organization while Jerry is still in charge

So we are interviewing coaches, but we haven’t fired Garrett. What it looks like to me is that the Jones aren’t sold that they will find a better and Garrett wants to stay bad enough that he is willing to sit out a year if all the coaching spots get filled before he is fired.

So if the Jones find someone that blows them away they will fire Garrett and hire the new guy, but if they don’t they will retain Garrett and tell us they kicked the tires on a bunch of guys and no one really seemed better than what we have in Garrett.

Hard to imagine defensive or special teams coaching stays around, but can argue keeping the offense the same make sense especially since changing the offense on Dak just as we commit to him long term isn’t the greatest plan.

Good luck with that if the jones boys go that route. A large part of the cowboys nation base will deuce out or at the very least have the lowest moral ever. Not good at all. And that would be the opposite of glam and splash that the jones boys always try and roll with the the fans. I dont think that happens btw. I think we get a new HC and let JGs contract expire.

This is by far THE most dysfunctional organization in the NFL.

If that happens that speaks volumes as to what a feclas person Garrett is that he will accept sloppy seconds.

No better option than Garrett? Stop trolling! There are more quality names out there this year than most. There are 3-4 coaches on every staff in the league that would make better head coaches than Garrett.

I’m not saying there isn’t a better option. I’m suggesting the Jones’ may not be convinced there is. How many of the coaches who you would say are definitely better than Garrett will also agree to the arrangements and shared spotlight that Garrett has agreed to. Jones said he hated it when Parcells was here.

I think we need a change, though I am nervous about changing the offense on Dak right before signing him long term. I just don’t see a lot of explanations for keeping Garrett on staff while interviewing other coaches. You don’t see anyone else doing that.

I think you are right. Cowboys are shopping around but Garrett may may not be totally out of the question just yet.

We’ll see what happens. Would be nice to have a change if things can stay stable or better for Dak.

Nope, Lewis and McCarthy didn't just decide to fly to Dallas, this has been planned out for a few days.

Whatever is going on with JG, he won't be the HC next season.

Plus what kind of pudd would want to be the coach after they interviewed other people?
