1. Mccarthy scheduled personal massages during practice time routinely .
2. Aaron Rodgers told anyone that would listen that McCarthy has the lowest football IQ of any coach he's ever worked with at any level .
3. During his last years the players ignored him .
If you want proof they went from not making playoffs to top seed as soon as they got rid of his *** in Green Bay .
He's TERRIBLE
It's going to be another long run of mediocrity .
Well the Offense averaged 32.4 a game w Mac 19.6 without

This hire answers my question about long term or short term.

This is a last gasp attempt for the Dak Zeke window.

Meh, I'm ok with it. Proven guy, I think he has it in him to be that demanding guy that can change the culture somewhat and strengthen this team mentally. That being said, I still don't believe this team can win consistently enough to compete for a championship with the way its set up with the Jones' basically dominating the headlines and ultimately setting the culture where the HC just doesn't have enough stroke.

Offensively, the Cowboys will be ok. His DC hire is of the utmost importance. He was hit or miss in GB with it, and this defense needs a major overhaul in talent and scheme.

He's not the big splash that everyone was expecting but he's a good hire with a good and bad track record especially when it comes to the playoffs, many appearances but a lot of playoff exits plus he only won one Superbowl with Aaron Rogers as his quarterback.

I’m lukewarm. I’ve always thought that Green Bay succeeded because of Aaron Rodgers, not McCarthy but I’m hopeful he can take us where we want to go

I wanna hear from you guys? I just don't know. Can fans more in the know about him comment please. Thanks.
Mike McCarthy will put the Cowboys back in the Super Bowl.
He had to fight against Rogers in Green Bay, who always resented the fact that McCarthy wanted Alex Smith over him.
McCarthy has the mentality of a real head coach. He will be a dominant personality and will give the team instructions from the head coach position.
He won a Super Bowl in Dallas.
Jason Garrett is gone.
It's a win/win!

McCarthy has an impressive career record, too. His regular-season head coaching record stands at 125–77–2 (.618). On top of that, the offensive guru has a 10–8 (.556) playoff record along with a Super Bowl XLV victory

also been to the playoffs NINE OF 13 SEASONS only 2nd to BB..

also know this McCarthy is not a jerry home grown parodical son , he will get 3-4 years and if its not done he will be gone..this wont be a Garett situation with a seemingly lifetime contract..

I'm more interested in who is assistants WILL BE AND WHAT Schemes THEY INTEND TO RUN..hopefully not a lot of our old leftovers..

I’m on the fence. He has to show me instant improvement in all aspects but especially scheme, preparation, and mental toughness from his players. I don’t really like retread coaches who have failed and been fired elsewhere even after having success. That points to lack of innovation and adjusting to a changing league. I want to see modern offense and defense. I don’t want to see exactly what worked for Green Bay 10 years ago with an all-pro QB. I want to see what will work today with Dak at QB and I’m not sure any retread is the answer to that. He isn’t Garrett so I’ll give him my support to begin with but I’m in total show me results mode.

He helped resurrect Favre's career, he developed ARodg, he won a Super Bowl, has been to multiple NFC Championship games, and has a winning playoff record. I think he's a pretty good hire

It will be interesting if the Green Bay Packers win the Superbowl this year what the reaction around here would be.

He’s actually turned a team around won something so that puts him way above Garrett. It’s not who I thought was going to be hired, but it’s a safe, solid, smarter choice for Jerry.

The Cowboys no longer have to play without a head coach to give them direction.
The days of having to win in spite of Garrett are over.
The days of getting absolutely nothing from the most important position on the team are over.
The Cowboys just stepped back into the NFL.
