I'm not gonna criticize the pick because I didnt expect any of the flashy names to come to fruition. Whats kinda ironic though is the cowboys bringing in an experienced head coach with the young, inexperienced OC already in house in Kellen Moore. Closely resembles the Garrett/Wade Phillips situation.

Don't think for a second that this isn't part of the reason to not go with one of the flashier candidates. They love Kellen Moore, Dak loves Kellen Moore. If things go terrible in years 2-3 you already know whats gonna happen.

What terrible news. Literally the WORST hire they could have possibly made. This ensures a string of 7 or 8 win seasons to come.

Keeping Garrett would have been a better move. That's how WRONG Jerry got this one.

Green Bay fans couldn't wait to be rid of this clown. They improved by 5 or 6 wins the moment he was let go.

At this point, we might as well just do it cheap and let Amari and Dak walk. Because we aren't winning **** with this clown. If we are gonna lose, might as well lose cheap.

I havent heard of anyone criticize McCarthy for winning a superbowl.

I think the criticism is of Jerry Jones and his need to hire puppets. Mike McCarthy is just another puppet in the chain. Gailey, Campo, Wade, Garrett, McCarthy.

People want to only focus on the record of a coach and not the real problem in Dallas. We are not a Mike McCarthy away from a SB. We are a Jerry Jones letting his HC have the authority they need to succeed away from winning a SB.

McCarthy doesn't clap, but he does roll his play sheet hold it under his chin.

So we can hate that.

I'm mad this was announced so soon. Seattle's in trouble because Rodgers and the refs will be motivated.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

seattle has owned GB in the playoffs. Wilson and Carroll are still there so they have a good shot next week.

Why is it when there is a sleep over at Jerry's I always think about 'A Weekend at Bernies'

In regards to McCarthy, He appears from articles I have read gone through a bit of a self learning journey over the last year and has admitted his mistakes of the past. With NFL you never get anyone who is top of their game as it costs too much so I think this is a good hire.

Intrigued in regards to DC. I want to see Jaylon getting to the QB more

McCarthy called his own plays in GB iirc.

Whether he does here could be a sign of whether.he's going to stand his ground with Jerry and require autonomy.

Moore might be a Pete Carmichael kind of OC.

If McCarthy is smart he will let someone else call plays so that way when it fails he can deflect the blame and extend his time here by then taking over the playcalling.

That is what bad coaches do to hang on to their million dollar job a little longer.

No matter who the Cowboys hired, there would've been criticism. Unless the guy was Parcells reincarnated, the hire would've been questioned.

As long as he holds players accountable .....

Also at least we hope to see an "ACTUAL" game plan for Sunday games AND hopefully "ACTUAL" in-game/half-time adjustments. that alone should be a plus ........

Give up hire, he'll struggle going from an elite QB to an average Joe QB.
That Average Joe QB out played the "elite QB" this year and had the worst starting field position in football and his WR dropped more passes than any other WR core in football. At this point in their careers in not convinced that Rodgers is a better QB than Dak.

I just can't imagine Mike McCarthy taking a puppet position in Dallas the first week of January when he has so many teams interested in him who have yet to hire anyone.

Doesn't make sense to me. What does make sense is he heard what he needed to hear from Jerry to believe he will have enough authority to make it work.

That is why I consider this a good hire. It changed Jerry to some degree. That was the key in this coaching change and I have every reason to believe it happened.

Why so quick though...you have Greg Roman and some other ''ready now'' coaches that could work out better.
It appears that Dallas got their top choice.

Doesn't mean it's the right choice--though it could be--but does probably mean it was their top choice.
