I immediately question the intelligence of any fan who tries to argue that McCarthy is no better, or actually worse, than Jason Garrett.

Childish insults, lol

Look, LeFluer added what, 5 or 6 wins to essentially the same team mccarthy had last year. That's how spare mccarthy is.

He won 10, 11, 12 games with Green Bay teams with so much talent it was literally impossible not to win with. As soon as things got tougher, he folded up shop.

We are a .500 team. What do you think is going to happen here? There's a reason why this clown doesn't have a job.

Instead of making a hire that would inject some excitement into one of the most disappointing teams in Cowboys history, this is what Jerry does. Hires another mediocre-to-bad coach to squeeze 6 and 7 wins out of a 10 win talent roster. Hooray.

Same team? No

They signed starters in RG - Billy Turner, OLBs - Preston Smith and ZaDarius Smith, Safety Adrian Amos

That’s four huge investments to any team

I just can't imagine Mike McCarthy taking a puppet position in Dallas the first week of January when he has so many teams interested in him who have yet to hire anyone.

Doesn't make sense to me. What does make sense is he heard what he needed to hear from Jerry to believe he will have enough authority to make it work.

That is why I consider this a good hire. It changed Jerry to some degree. That was the key in this coaching change and I have every reason to believe it happened.
hope you are correct, just don't hold your breath to long.

My Cowboys guy says he's already making his first coffee run for Jerry and Stephen.

Obviously with McCarthy I don't literally mean run. It's a figure of speech.

This isn’t going to end well. Stephen now has someone competing against him for the Monday morning donuts.

That Average Joe QB out played the "elite QB" this year and had the worst starting field position in football and his WR dropped more passes than any other WR core in football. At this point in their careers in not convinced that Rodgers is a better QB than Dak.
No he didn't. And that was with a MUCH more talented offensive group around him.

I am so incredibly disappointed with this hire...it'll be more of the same boys.

LOL! No run game?

He had Aaron Jones in 2017 and 2018.

Jones averaged 5.5 Yds/carry in BOTH seasons.

Too bad Jones didn’t get to carry the load until 2019. His fat idiot of a head coach “knew better.”

Aaron Rodgers and him hated each other. I read an article that said Rodgers would change 1/3 of the plays called in to him just out of spite. Sounds like there is a lot more to the story in Packers then you know. I wish I could go back to the Chiefs board the day after Reid's hiring. Probably a lot of people like you there calling Reid the same names you are calling McCarthy.

The most important detail should be the structure of power not the actual hire. We've had different coaches since 95 but the constant in our average success has been the front office. So I'm hoping McCarthy would only take this job if it was discussed that they would not interfere and let him build his operation the way he's been planning all this time and allow him to add and remove personnel as he sits fit without being overruled by Jerry. If thats the case then I am happy with this hire.
