Would you be happy if Mike McCarthy turned out like Andy Reid?

HE'S a winner. Has the pedigree and the Gonads to hire and fire folks...he is the Anti Garrett..THE ALPHA MALE IN THE ROOM...THE 1 VOICE AND LEADERSHIP THIS CLUB HAS BEEN CLAMORING FOR SINCE THE TUNA AND JIMMY J. I HAVE 1000% FAITH IN THIS PLAN.

i'm hoping McCarthy becomes even better than Andy Reid is using the run game to his advantage far more successfully.
it's often seems like an abandonment with Reid as it seems like its all placed on Pat Mahomes, ..and he's throwing 50 times, and taking a lot of pops and licks in the process,
and that's gonna be too much a toll on him come Baltimore-playoff time.
it does seem Reid is finally getting a much more competitive enough defense to better his Chiefs chances.

another thing to note is the Andy Reid coaching tree that will see assistants turn HC's - Matt Nagy, maybe eventually Eric Bienemy, etc.
Dunno if McCarthy has such a coaching tree.
The Andy Reid coaching tree:
Brad Childress, John Harbaugh, Steve Spagnola, Leslie Frazier, Ron Rivera, Pat Shumer, Todd Bowles, Doug Pederson, Sean McDermott, Matt Nagy. 7 of the 10 have taken their team to the playoffs, two won the Super Bowl.

Mike McCarthy coaching tree:
Joe Philbin, Bob McAdoo, Jeff Jagodzinski (NCAA, Boston College for two years)

..lol...funny, these are the same fans when McCarthy won the super and took them many times to playoffs. Then he has a couple of avg seasons, and they want his head.
Crazy, right?

I think about it that way, too.

If everybody held themselves to such high standards..

they would not have time to post here.

So now we have to compare COACHING TREES to determine a coaches success?

40 years ago maybe.

Landry and Lombardi would qualify as true, but Don Shula and others not?

Hmmmm..

I want Mike McCarthy to turn out like Mike McCarthy. The man lead a perennial contender and won a SB. The Packers were always mentioned with the likes of NE, Sea and Pitt. McCarthy as much as anyone seemed to always have to compensate for a porous OL, crap D, no running game or a dozen guys on IR, but his guys were ready to play and he nearly always had his team in the tournament.

Landry has one more Lombardi than McCarthy, but the magic of the Cowboys during his time as HC was that they were always contenders. As a fan, that is all I ask. Keep my team in hunt and McCarthy certainly delivered that in GB.

Someone was curious so I put this up. I don't recall any part of my post where I said a coaches' success and his coaching tree are related.

Offensive guru? :lmao2:

Aaron Rogers is an offensive guru, not BigMac.
Not even a top 10 QB this year. Yea, the year they have a great record are #2 seed. They are doing it with defense, the running game and no Ted Thompson.
