4th - 2 (20+ yard) jump ball.

Would have gone down as one of the greatest plays in Cowboys history if he had maintained the catch and sent us to the NFCCG.

Instead it's remembered as an over officiated segment of pop culture.

Shame really.

Nope. Seen it enough time, thanks.

Calling out a player for trying too hard to score is just a ridiculously dumb view. And it validates that it was, in fact, a catch.
No. I actually need to step you through it. You didn't see what you thought you saw.
If Dez would've tucked the ball in instead of reaching and leaving the ball exposed to the ground we wouldn't be having this discussion.

hitches face masked was grabbed. No screw job.

it was funny / crazy tho how the nfc played out with lions/dallas/GB each suffering progressively worse heartbreaking losses
Screw job *note the non call on Suh’s hold which the NF admitted they got wrong and would have made it 4th and 16 for the Cowboys; also Dez running onto the field with his helmet off and arguing with officials.

If any of those calls went the same way against Dallas instead of Detroit, the same people complaining and crying about Dez’s non catch would still be whining about these calls/non calls.

Dez caught it and the NFL screwed the fans out of a fantastic finish.
The NFL screwed Detroit out of playing Green Bay, Dallas should have never been there in the first place. What comes around, goes around. Karma is a you know what.

lol in the link you posted, it says that Dez actions don’t warrant an automatic penalty and it’s to the refs discretion.

And literally in the same paragraph they discuss the suh play it says “Cowboys informed of several missed calls against Detroit”

so yeah, valiant effort to discredit your favorite team and fans, but no screw job. Thanks for doing the leg work

Not only was that a catch we win that game. Rodgers has a history of choking when his team is down late in the game.

Beautiful 4th down Clutch throw by Mr Romo there, such a shame no rings for that dude.

I mean maybe if we would have been better and not all about stats, he could have gotten a ring. But he wasn't so he doesn't.

Can’t believe advocating for a player to make a smart football play is being characterized as an asinine view.

The number one objective of that 4th down play was to get a first down and continue the drive. Dez securing the ball would have meant we met that objective. Exposing the ball attempting to score ultimately brought the refs into the equation when they didn’t need to be. End result was Aaron Rodgers took the next snap instead of Tony Romo.

I’ll gladly be thought of as a moron by anyone who thinks wanting Dez to secure that ball is an asinine take. They are probably the same people who want DBs to try and intercept a Hail Mary pass instead of batting the ball down.

On 4th and 2, why did romo opt for the bomb? Why not pound Murray or throw a quick out/slant?

granted, we were screwed but right when he let the ball go I was screaming at the tv
