If Dak gets tagged will there be any team that offers up two 1st round picks?

Pay Dak or Tag and Keep or Tag and Reel in two first round picks? I see a max of 12 teams that would be potential candidates for making a move. Just throwing out "what ifs" here. The day we're allowed to tag Dak:

-How soon will a team make an offer? Immediately, within the first week, during the draft, etc.

-If a team makes an offer would you match or decline? If the Panthers, Bengals, Bears, Bucs, or whoever offer up their first round picks do you brush it off or jump on it? If you decline, why?

Be honest and disregard whatever the Cowboys might do to keep you from answering.

I'd ask this:

When was the last time a team gave up two first round picks for a franchise tagged quarterback?

I would take the first 2 round picks. Let my new staff interview and pick a qb for the future. Whether it's trading up or otherwise. Devil's advocate to taking the picks is ending up with a QB that isn't as good as dak which probably has better odds that drafting a qb will not be as good as dak.

I think there are a number of teams that would consider it - Chargers, Colts, Bucs, Bears, Steelers.

They'd have to be in win-now mode, b/c they aren't going to give up multiple top-10 picks. It would definitely be after the draft.

If I know that pick #17 and the 2 Firsts I got for Dak are enough to secure Tua.. I pull the trigger. If not, keep Dak and see how he looks with McCarthy.

no chance
ZERO

in addition, no team on the market would pay him even 30 mill/year
Jerry should give his agent permission to negotiate a deal

absolutely not.

given salary cap in today's NFL draft picks are a premium, specially the 1st round picks since you have rights at a very reasonable price to top level players (yes draft is a crap shoot at time) for 5 years.

there are three good QB that are in this year's draft and usually teams that are pretty crappy will want QBs and usually they have more needs than one player, thus they are looking at it as a long term process

but bengals will probably pick Burrow from LSU.....and invest in him

Bears may want to ride out Turbiskey before they give up two firsts to take Dak and I don't see them as a team that's a QB away from making a run....

panthers seemingly have their QB...

unless New Orleans does it, if brees leaves...

can't see anybody else that would pay two firsts to get Dak..

This year has the smallest chance ever of it happening. What team is going to give up two 1st round picks in a year where there will be more quarterbacks hitting the market than ever before?

Think of the scheduled free agents and players rumored to be on the block:
  1. Tom Brady
  2. Drew Brees
  3. Philip Rivers
  4. Jameis Winston
  5. Ryan Tannehill
  6. Cam Newton
  7. Marcus Mariota
And that's just a few off the top of my head. Why would anyone give up two future 1st round picks to then have to pay Prescott over $35 million a year? The answer? Nobody would.

If a team is going to give up 2 1st round picks for a QB that some see as very good potential others see as a bus driver. I don't think any team thinks he sucks, though some on here do, but they hate everything. LOL.

But a team will give up those picks to draft a QB, low cap hit for 5 years. Rather than getting a QB that wants $35 to $40 million a year.

You were posting this while I was typing mine. Agree, no team will do that.

I don't think anyone will offer it. But I'm saying if they did.

2 first not a chance but Id take it. too steep for dak and i think the only QB out there that would garner that is Mahomes and he may not acheive the same success outside KC.(well maybe not the only one you never know what these people would do.Jackson and Wilson maybe) I like Dak and if someone were that foolish id be like see ya!

Id draft someone to replace him but you still need to fix other stuff. Dak isn't the big issue. hes part of it.
