Because of my masochistic tendencies, I decided to fire up this game again.

It is the first time I have watched it since it happened.

It is amazing the perspective you don't get when watching it in the heat of the moment. You see little nuances you missed the first time.

What was so shocking to me was the lack of urgency that the whole team had. It was like they did not care.

Cooper was especially disappointing. Prescott was not on point.

And the defense, well, we know how they underachieved.

I just remember being mad about the game, but watching it again just was depressing.

It makes me wonder if they had no desire to win, because it sure looked like it.

I would encourage everyone who can watch it again do so and then start to decide how they feel about the talent on this team.

Cooper is my biggest concern going into this offseason. I can't help but wonder if we should cut our loss at that 1st round pick & move on. I know many, many will disagree but I think he really wants to be elsewhere.

It is not like I could say, wow, Prescott was just off. He has had games like that before.

He is not exactly Mr. Accurate. There were some things where he made bad throws that were high.

But overall, no. It did not look like he was throwing with a bum shoulder to the point that you can say he was playing hurt.
That’s how I remember it as well. He just wasn’t sharp and the entire team was out of it

There’s always a chance that the changes will help him out. I think he has got to be pretty disappointed in his play down the stretch. A huge late run in the season as opposed to how itactually ended may made him him a few million more on his next deal

There is a huge difference between motivated players and unmotivated players.

Clearly the Cowboy players were unmotivated that day. Judging the talent level of this roster off of that game is an exercise in futility.

is it my bad memory or does it seem like a common theme for garrett's teams in the biggest games they come out lifeless, listless and un-inspired?
sure seems that way to me.
Do the math in the big games under his tenure.

I said it before.

It showed their character. Whether they gave up on Garrett or not, there were plenty of gut check moments that they elected to opt out of.

Anything that has Garretts face on it I dont want to see ever again.

I know. But you can never learn if you do not revisit the past.

There were numerous opportunities the players, not the coaches, had in that game.

I know it is all fun and games to focus on the new staff, but some of these players really lacked focus in that game.

And it was not the fringe guys. The money players spit the bit so hard.
I've said it all year and I'll say it again. It's on the coaches because they allow these players to continuously see the field with the same attitude or performance. I'm hoping a new coach with no attachment to the players will either kick them to the curb after trying to help them or they'll instill a new mentality so that we don't get a repeat. I've said Garrett and the rest of the players and coaches are all lying to themselves in the film room based on what we see and how they go about the week acting like those issues didn't exist. Garrett acted like he had a gun to his head and was not allowed to sit any key player for terrible performances. That alone is one of many fireable offenses. I'm hoping MM does not go a full season of accepting substandard play.

It's equal part coaching and equal part the environment that Jerry creates.

Garrett, as Giants fan will soon find out, is not a X's and O's guy. He does not have his teams prepared for opponents nor can he make in-game adjustments. He's told you all who he is for years but many refused to listen. He thinks that you can just try harder than your opponents (fight, scratch, win) and you will come out on top. He literally told you this year he expects each player to win their individual match-up's. His refusal and/or inability to use analytics in football also showed you this guy does not understand modern day tactics.

That will change some with McCarthy, but at the end of the day the lack of accountability and the fact that the players have direct and constant access to the owner will costs us. Jason showed media a text he received where a player told Garrett they don't have to listen to him. I've been told and I've seen others also state that was Jaylon Smith (I'm not anti-Jaylon). Garrett tried to reign him in, but after Jerry just prematurely rewarded Jaylon with a 5-year, $64M ($35M guaranteed) deal. That's not going to stop anytime soon. Jerry will throw money at a player in his constant efforts to vindicate himself as a football guy, and that player is going to be exempt from McCarthy's control.

It's going to take a few years, but unlike Garrett who was mostly spineless and just happy to be here, McCarthy is a finger-pointer and a blame guy. A player (or two or three) is going to get on his bad side and McCarthy is going to publicly criticize him.

I know this dumps on everyone's hope parade but McCarthy has already conceded stuff and Jerry's normal mouthpieces are in full spin control saying Jerry isn't pushing these decisions on McCarthy. People here are pretending that control (and publicity) freak Jerry has suddenly relinquished control after all these years.

We will be a better team on the field next year but IMO we still won't be mentally tough enough to win championships. As long as the Jones family insists on playing General Manager and VP of Player Personnel, this team will come up short.

What bothered me the most is that most eagles fans and the city were ready to turn on Wentz and Pederson instead these guys made them look like all pros. I hate how Wentz looked like garbage all year then they played the Giants, Commanders, Giants and Cowboys who had no intention or desire to win those games and they come out looking like hero's. That's what bothered me the most about this loss.

Just a disgusting, gutless, weak, pathetic display by the entire team.

Lack of effort. Lack of urgency. Lack of passion. Lack of pride.

The most disappointing loss since the 44-6 drubbing in 2008 in Philadelphia IMO... we have lost other games. But none that displayed such a lack of heart, focus, and professional pride.

Well, credit where credit is due, the Eagles left nothing on the field, especially as depleted as they were.

We held the Eagels to 17 points and managed all but 9 points and you state the defense underachieved?
9 Points in the NFL won't win you games bud so direct your comments on the INEPTNESS of our QB and the offense he leads!
