No one outside of Dallas think he's top 5 or top 10. For people to keep comparing Dak to Brees, Rodgers, etc. is an insult to all of them.
You missed his point. He wasn’t saying Dak is as good as Brees or Rodgers, he just reasonably and rationally pointed out that other QBs get credit for the yardage they gain in less than meaningful moments, so it doesn’t make sense to treat Dak differently in that regard.

I don't know why it matters, our opinion will not change the opinion of others. We as fans will never be on the same page and some of us aren't even reading the same book :)
You know what opinions are like, and we have a lot of them around here. Lol

Good post. Their hate blinds them to the fact that those so called garbage yards were Dak doing everything he could to try and make a comeback.
The haters only look at the negatives to full fill their need to be correct. True fans of our young gun slinger know Dak is coming off of the best season of his career, as he threw for 4,902 yards, 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 65.1 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 99.7. AND, never missed a game.

Dak was even in the MVP conversation earlier in the year, but that chatter simmered down as Garrett let the Boys fade down the stretch.
It's got to be a self-preservation thing, because there's no way that many people are that dense.
:lmao2:Percy, that's the best post of 2020 that I've read thus far. Going to be hard to top that one.

And then theirs Maude.....

Honestly Dak is pretty good. Each year he gets better and better. His inaccuracy is mostly the only reason folks say he isnt top 10. He can have 5200 yes 50 yes and 10 into but if he misses wides open guys ALOT and dont go to the pl playoffs or perform well when he does it won't matter

Here me out before clicking reply and calling me "delusional" or "stupid" or any of the other things said to everyone trying to be positive on here.

There have only been 12 different 5000 yard passing seasons, a mark Dak barely missed. He did however put up the 21st highest yard total in league history and only gets hate for it.

He gets a lot of hate around here for "garbage time" stats. I disagree with this notion.

Dak got a lot of garbage time stats, yes. I contend that this is true for every QB, even those 5k seasons. You cant tell me that every one of Manning's record 5477 yards was meaningful. Every year, every QB has garbage time stats and good stats in losing games. It's always true.

But no one discredits Bree's multiple 5k yard campaigns, even though much of it came in the form of blow outs in garbage time, for example.

Basically, this board wants to give no credit to Dak for his stats and I think that's dumb. Garbage time or not, he earned those yards, and thats why he has them. People are just angry that his stats happened in an 8-8 season, as though Dak is to blame for a useless special teams and an underachieving defense. If we had won 10 games, suddenly everyone's perception would be more kind.

Thoughts?

What were his stats in games that mattered, NO, NE, BUF, @PHI?

Dallas scored 2 TD in those 4 games. Great job offense!!!

Wrong about what?
You supported Romo. You and Sarek were the reason they created the Romo Forum. Which was a collective Tony bashing forum. You made it unbearable and many threads went to die in that forum after being derailed and turned into Romo hate sessions.

What a stupid post.

He was top 10 this year by just about any metric. But that’s inaccurate because YOU say so?

Troy Aikman says he wouldn’t hesitate one bit to pay Dak a huge contract.

Yes, that Troy Aikman.

Who are you? And from which facts did you form YOUR opinion?
:lmao2:
Guess your memory only works when you want to prop up Dak

Oh, please. There were many posters who were also critical of Tony. You guys didn't want to hear it. I told y'all his seeking of the limelight, going Hollywood and getting involved with that attention-seeking Jessica Simpson would be a problem, especially during his prime years. But, noooo, you guys kept on making excuses for him. After time went by, who was right?

Well, I don't want anything to do with that. I just voiced my opinion. I'm sorry if I made some uncomfortable. Was just trying to make aware my concerns. I liked Tony overall.

Is he? What if Dak started his career with the lowly Dolphins? Would we even know his name? Tannehill is proving he is not a bum. He was just on a bum team before.

nope tannehill is a bum....he’s just not losing games his team can win for him. I can’t believe have posted here that they want to ditch Dak for Tannehill...just silliness....

Other people have mentioned his name but Winston lead the league in yards and beat Dak by 200. No one here even mentions him, thinks about him, when they talk about good QB's. The pro-Dak people in particular would laugh at someone who put him in the same tier as Dak so its kind of hypocritical.

If the thread concept is true, does that mean Winston is better than Dak?

Personally, I would say no. Winston's yards were . . . . empty.

You know what's sad?

All of the anti-Dakers and their daily Dak bashing comments aren't going to mean a thing when Dak gets his new big contract with the Cowboys very soon. All of this hate for what? To ultimately be so wrong about Dak? Sad.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force the horse to drink.

I just have to note about Zeke. There were a lot of people on this forum saying "don't give him a huge contract. The team will regret it."

Those people were right and they frequently brought it up this year.

Dak will probably get a big contract too. I strongly suspect that will not end the conversation.

of course people won’t mention Winston as much here as Dak - after all, this is a Dallas Cowboy site. But Winston also threw 30 INTs and had a very low QB rating, which has been a common theme through his career I don’t think the OP was attempting to say no other stat besides yardage matters.

Very naive and uneducated post. It’s almost as if you’re saying Dak is responsible for coaching, the OL blocking, the WR’s running the correct routes, the WR’s catching the ball and the defense stopping the other team.
He is one of the gridiron challenged group of low football IQ haters that bring nothing to the forum . A poor mans Captain Crash LOLOL

Maybe if inept Dak stopped throwing behind and high to our WR they could catch them balls?
Witten , Cooper , Gallup ,Cobb put balls right in their hands and they. dropped them to the point it looked like they were trying to throw the game . Every QB has errant throws we seem like the only team that cant catch the ball when its put on the #s in a must win game 7 drops in the Eagles game catch just 4 and it changes the game .
That type of analysis is for fans who can watch the whole game other than just the parts that fit their agenda so by all means carry on with your usual BS . You are at least more entertaining than most of the others in the Gridiron challenged group .

It’s some kind of mental disease.

It is a disease Rocky its called Gridiron challenged , stems from a low football IQ , short attention span and a difficulty processing what they are actually seeing , They develop a single agenda obsess over it to the point its all they see while watching a game .

People on this board need to wake up!
Just look at the games this year and stats dont tell the whole story.
Saints- 4 quarters of football and 0 tds
Packers- Dak throws first td with 2 min left in 3rd quarter. Cowboys are down 30-3
Jets- Dak runs for his first td of game with 43 sec left in the 4th quarter
Patriots- 4 quarters of football and 0 tds
Bills- Dak has TD to open the game and end the game and goes 2.5 quarters with nothing. Cowboys are down 26 - 7
Bears- Early TD and then not TDs for 2nd and 3rd quarter Cowboys are down 24-7
Eagles- 4 quarters of football 0 tds with the division on the line
