The Cowboys' record of 20 consecutive winning seasons just might stay intact

If Tom Brady is indeed never suiting up for another Patriots game again in his career, it's possible New England will finish 8-8 or worse next year. That would mean the Cowboys' all-time NFL record of 20 consecutive winning seasons would remain unmatched.

Right now, the Patriots have put together 19 consecutive winning seasons, all in the Brady-Belichick era (2001-2019). So it's this season or bust. We gotta root hard against New England this year.

The Patriots 9 SB appearances since 2001. Winning 6 trumps all.
They basically go every other year.

New England can have a winning season without trying.

Belichek could get 9 wins with a scarecrow under center.

That being said I hope you're right.

Yeah but NE did it during the salary cap era which this franchise has not been particularly adept at.

Its crazy to think that in the 2000s, the Patriots basically have a 50% appearance rate and a 33% win rate in superbowls. That's just ungodly. I hate how good they are but after 2 decades I'm forced to acknowledge and respect how damn good they actually are.

I think the salary cap was actually an advantage for the Patriots, not a disadvantage. It prevented any true rival from standing in the Patriots' way.

It's not like how the pre-cap era Niners and Cowboys were able to mutually prevent each other from achieving unbridled dominance.

Imagine them trading their whole entire draft and a RB to get Joe Burrow. That would mean another decade of winning for them.

Cowboys still have the best winning percentage at .572 (combined regular season and playoffs)
Pats .566 (might be lower now)
Pack .565

Cowboys have been in the most playoff games with 63
Stealers 61
Pats 58

Cowboys tied with the Pack for most playoff appearances with 33
Gnats 32
Stealers 31
Pats 27 (9th place)

:starspin:
Just numbers and in the end once you break those numbers down to trophies.
The Pats and Steelers both have 6 a piece to our 5 and both have higher winning percentages on this games than the Cowboys.

Now just imagine what could have been had Jerrahs massive ego not clashed with Jimmy Johnson back in the 90’s?

Really?

30 year old winning streaks actually have you concerned?

Man, I gave all that up when DVD came out and VHS went in the garage in boxes never to be seen again becuz my VCR broke.

You should break yours, too.

Blue Ray has come and gone. Laser disks never made it

We now watch using 4K/8k.

I now have a fancy HD TV I would like to sell you so I can upgrade.

Call me.

Close your eyes, Luke.

Feel the Force..it is all around you.

And Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia..

she passed away 2 years ago.

Things change.

Even Yoda gets old.

So do old winning streaks.

Oh..BTW you are getting older too.

Watch out.

:lmao:

PS-Just a little humor, Bro. But you dated yourself. Tag tag you're it..nay nay.

Bill Belichick and the no.1 defense in the NFL will win with or without Tom Brady. See Landry without Roger Staubach 1980-1985, and see Landry 1965-1971.

Records are meant to be broken. When the consensus greatest head coach since Landry has a record in sight, it going to be broken.

Yeah but NE did it during the salary cap era which this franchise has not been particularly adept at.

People keep referring to that era as if it is only the Cowboys who did not have salary cap and all other had their hands tied. All teams had the same ability to sign whoever they wanted.
Add to that another argument, salary cap gives advantage to teams like NE buy actually restricting them from building a winning team easily ... not mentioning the new "don't look at the QB" rules that helped teams like NE, Indy, GB and co

The point is, I will not undermine this era or previous ones. IF you are good in your time, you are good. No way to compare different teams from different eras
