Yup. Pretty much the exact opposite of what a safety needs to be.No
he lacks ball skills and never looks for the ball thats a horrible trait for your last line of defense
We don't have players named thomas, chancellor or sherman on our roster. Hawks had vastly superior talent.Worked for the #LegionOfBoom
now we have Linguist?
There’s no doubt Lewis will be starting somewhere imo. Lewis being a backup was pure incompetence by Garrett and his staff.
Definitely a frustrating player to watch. He would have a guy totally blanketed and still give up the catch. No

While poking around on the intrawebs, I came across this article from 10 months ago regarding switching Chido to safety. I’m not sure how reputable the website is and I’ve never heard of the writer, so take it however you will.
But... considering many folks here at CZ feel that Chido is a bad cornerback, it is an intriguing and compelling argument.
Enjoy... or don’t. Lol

You might want to pay more attention to the NFL in general. It's common to move CB's to S. Some of the best S's in the NFL were CB's. Earl Thomas played both. Devin McCourty was a CB. Malcolm Jenkins also.Haven't we gotten past this? Moving our CBs to S just made them ineffective at both.
Sorry, Quicks, that's not accurate. Lewis has phenomenal man cover skills. It's the mental part of the game that has escaped him. While I totally agree with the article in that Awuzie’s skill set is more suitable to and off line/ cushion coverage, and zone schemes where he can best be in a forward moving position
with the ball in front of him,
He would still would have the same problems he had at CB. … no ball skills … not a ball hawk. You don’t see that anticipation to read-react and jump balls.
Even going back to his college days at Colorado, he was never a ballhawk ( 3 total INTs) I’ve always thought this was the wrong scheme for him.
Could he be physical and resilient enough to handle the pounding that a safety constantly has to with run support tackling ? Possible.
But I don’t see a Malcolm Jenkins here.
- And here’s another problem, we have to quickly find a replacement for him at starting LCB role, …and sorry I know Jordan Lewis has his fan-fare, but he is not a starter outside.
And it’s a question if he is a suitable 3rd CB as I thought he struggled in his role as slot CB.
Jordan definitely has the INT skills you want, but he also has just average man coverage skills- epitome of a give-take CB.
- Also if we move Awuzie to safety, what becomes of Xavier Woods ? and the X-men is not the SS, in the box type.

The dialogue got started about Lewis not being an outside CB, and for some reason many grabbed on. Lewis is a better outside DB than Awuzie.
You might want to check your attitude at the door before you reply. You don't know me. What makes you think it's cool to talk to a stranger with that tone? You might want to pay more attention to the NFL in general. It's common to move CB's to S. We didn't move Byron. He played both in college.
Not me telling myself, quicks. Much study, much reading, much game watching. I'm truly disappointed at your first sentence. That should be reserved for convo's w/ Pappy.ok .. keep telling yourself that.
but as I said before, Jordan Lewis seems to have this fan fare base that will root for him and refuse to give up on him as he's ultimate underdog,.. regardless of what they are seeing with their eyeballs.
From what I've seen, when he finally received his chance to be full time 3rd CB-slot guy, he displayed the typical give-take CB, in that he has the knack and hands to track, drive
for the INT.
But when he has to flat line up and man cover, he's gonna flat out give up some plays as well.
and If he getting torn up as a nickel CB, he doesn't stand a chance outside on a island and especially in an expanded starting role.
Was that the same ones that thought the same about Byron Jones? Many scouts pre-draft thought his best fit was at S.
You made a blanket statement based on poor logic. I called you on it. Next time you want others to treat you w/ respect, think about what you post and how you can back it up w/ facts and logic. You might want to check your attitude at the door before you reply. Byron did not like playing both positions and asked to be kept in one position so he could train and prepare to play that position full time. It did wonders for his performance after he stayed at CB. I play plenty of attention to the NFL. I've seen other players prefer not to be swithing back and forth from CB to S. It's not an off the wall concept.
The next time you think you can talk down to me, think again. A little kindness goes a long way. Good day.
There wasn't all that much about Byron, since he was considered a late round talent. He only rose in the draft when he won the underwear olympics. There was conjecture that he had the smarts to play S, looks like the conjecture might have been off. However, Byron wasn't terrible at S, as some like to spew. Was that the same ones that thought the same about Byron Jones?
Where is this thuggish attitude coming from? I know you are capable of having a civil conversation so, how 'bout it? Give it a try.You made a blanket statement based on poor logic. No he wasn't but he was MUCH better at corner. There wasn't all that much about Byron, since he was considered a late round talent. He only rose in the draft when he won the underwear olympics.
