Is this guy right here.

Anatomy of a Player: Joe Schobert | Browns Countdown - YouTube
  1. I have followed this kid since he was a standout on some pretty dominant Badger defenses as a young college player. He's a YOUNG healthy Sean Lee without all the injury problems. Never really got the recognition from the masses he deserves IMO. Kind of a sleepy looking dude, but I tell ya what, you pop in the game...and BANG...he shows up all over the field. Makes plays everywhere. Can bring the thump, cover in space too, good pass rusher, causes turnovers with big hits or in coverage. Great football IQ, really sees the field. You move Jaylon outside WHERE HE SHOULD BE IN THE FIRST PLACE and slide this kid inside and you have somethin going for you on defense now. A no nonsense guy that can run a defense from the middle. Another coach on the field, QB of the defense guy that we sorely need and have been lacking,.. TO SAY THE LEAST.

You’re a Badger fan so your bias but if McClay likes him, I’m all in.

Im a Cowboys fan too! Thing is, what Scho has done on the field, the impact he's made, the numbers he's put up and the difference he,s made has nothing to do with my bias. He is right now better than any linebacker that we currently have IMO. We need more REAL leaders and a whole lot less CLOWNS if we ever want to actually be anything. I am soooooo sick to death of the laughing ,grinning , I GOT MINE , parade of clowns that we have had to put up with over the years. REAL leadership in deeds is whats needed and a whole lot less talk!

I love the idea. It would allow the team to play Smith at strongside where he belongs. From the numbers, it looks like Schobert got snubbed on a Pro Bowl nod. But I think a move like this ultimately comes down to money and cost. If Schobert has a market, I'd expect it would be more than this team could afford, given the mouths to feed already.

My hope is that he would be undervalued on the open market a little bit. Although I can easily see the Packers making a run at him " hope not".

I can also easily see the Browns making it a priority to keep him. And they should still have plenty of cap room, no?

The Packers have their own big ticket linebacker to pay already in Blake Martinez.

Of coarse....A lot of this is going to depend on the tackles you put in front of our linebackers. My dream is a starting D.T tandem next year of Reader and Kinlaw. You do THAT...and our linebackers are running clean through the offense free to make plays all over the field and BEHIND the line of scrimmage. Exciting prospect to say the least.

He'll get too much and I bet they are betting on a healthy LVE and Smith to start next year.

I've read he's so-so in the run game but good in coverage.

My ideal would be Jordan Phillips and Kinlaw. But I honestly don't see any way that Kinlaw falls to us. Thanks for yet another ultimately meaningless win on your way out the door Garrett! All you did was to drop this team way down in the draft - again!

We'll see how valid the rumored red flags are for his knee(s) as we get closer and past the combine.

Liked the talent Phillips flashed in Miami. Very athletic for a big dude. And it seems like in Buffalo they got more football rewards out of him than Miami.
If he can respond well to Nolan, Tomsula and Lett then I think he can be a force here

In my opinion, Phillips has all of the physical tools and traits that you look for in the position. And he truly came into his own in Buffalo this year and looks like a player that's found himself and now knows what it takes to succeed. He had some bumps in the road early on in his career but it certainly looks like the light has come on for him.

If this team could someone field a starting defensive line of Lawrence-Phillips-Kinlaw-Quinn, I think they would be a force in a hurry!

(Wishful thinking I know!)

That's fine but I certainly hope they have a solid plan B. Truth is we have no idea how LVE injury is going to impact his career or how long. If it's me, I'm making sure I have a solid potential starter as his replacement if needed.

Me too. I wonder if with a new sheriff in town they'll look elsewhere or just go back to Sean Lee for a plan b for injury concerns for LVE.

Would like another solid vet and another LB taken maybe early in day 3(depending on the draft).

Like LVE and hope he can play for another decade but man that prognosis has me concerned even short term

Actually more doable than you think.....Adding a couple more mills per year of Byron's $14-15M, could get you Phillips AND Quinn. ANY concerns/questions about Kinlaw's knee drops him from the top 15 IMO.
