The Cowboys should sign Keenum, and let Dak decide what to do next

I don't hate Dak. I would be thrilled if he was "the guy".
But he is the same quarterback he was in college- he chokes under pressure.
And he was never made to earn his spot after Moore got hurt.
But Dak Prescott is Kellen Moore's most adamant supporter when it comes to coaching, because he knew that Moore is the better quarterback when it

Like when the Giants benched Kurt Warner to let Eli Manning play?
You can take the easy way out and blame Keenum for everything-including global warming- or you can tell the truth.
Keenum was playing for the Commanders; he was keeping a failing franchise as competitive as he could, but they all knew Gruden was on his way out the door.
If you want to blame the Commanders woes on Keenum, then go to another thread. If you want to honestly talk football, you have to acknowledge that Keenum has accomplished more than Dak over the past 4 years and has dealt with a lot more adversity.
So that alone shows that he is better.
Dak slobberers are low IQ fans who have likely never even seen Keenum play. They have no explanation why Keenum has played at a high level as a game manager under ideal conditions, but somehow Dak who has been a bottom 5 QB when simply one OL goes down, they have plenty of excuses for.
Ask Dak slobberers to play a game, since 2016 I’ll count the number of offensive All-Pros Dak has played with and you count the number Keenum has played with. Whoever has the smallest amount has to leave the board forever. Any takers?

LOL. oh, we know him from a previous board....this is going to go on for years...

he picks something very controversial. adds something stupid to it and looks and loves people responding. he never responds to any posts that present facts. when he is really drunk he get confrontational and starts name calling. this is the 2nd of 1892 threads he is going to start on this topic....he knows we are going to sign Dak, so he picked this topic, because it gives him something to argue about for the next 4 years.
He's old enough to drink :omg:

The Cowboys should get Case Keenum and give him a four year deal.
He would be an upgrade immediately, and at worst would solidify the Cowboys at quarterback if they do eventually sign Dak.
Phillip Rivers is also available, and is an upgrade.
Ryan Tannehill is available.
The Cowboys don't have to be in this soap opera with a guy who went 8-8 but wants to be paid like he is a proven winner.
Signing a veteran like Keenum- who has been a winner- would likely change Dak's attitude towards a new contract.
But I believe that the Cowboys would make it to the NFC Championship game next year with a guy like Keenum under center.
I agree with a good bit of your post.

I would like to know how Andrew Luck is doing these days?

He seemed burned out and needed rest from his shoulder issues and a change of location.

He is somebody who I think would be a great get if he wants back in football.

Something to keep an eye on to me. This year or next depending on Dak's situation.

Never made to earn his spot after Moore got hurt? You are either stupid as hell, never have watched a Cowboys game, a Troll or all the above. Get that crap outta here.

he is actually a drunk, he spent sometime in Jail. he is a looney...

the funniest thing was he once talked about his leadership abilities compared to garrett...we come to find out that he was the coach of a 6 year old t-ball team and won their league...he used to claim about his leadership ability to lead athletes in tough times and that he understands and knows a thing or two about leadership...that was an absolute hoot!

He even went to a for-profit university and left with nothing, but debt.

Dude, you're talking to one of the biggest bags of hot air here.
Don't expect anything enlightening.
Only condescension from someone completely undeserving to serve it.

Keenum could be had very cheap. Foles could be traded for, Winston could be had
There are options if we don't want to pay 35 million plus. If our coaching staff and FO are game let's move on.
Do we believe in the rest of the infrastructure of the team? Dak is slightly below Cousins in terms of talent. Cousins is a more accurate short and long passer. I dont think he is worth 28 mllion a year. I think Goff is severely overpaid.
Wentz cant stay on the field. Has not won a playoff game.
If you tell me the Cowboys go cheap at QB, and sign Chris Jones, Amari Cooper, Shaq Barrett I am good with it. Build up the rest of the team and give me an average QB. Dak is just above average. He is no Wilson, Rodgers. He is not a game changer.
Watching Dak this year, it was not strictly his play that was the problem.

Despite giving Zeke his record deal, the OL did not dominate as in years before.

There were games where it was stalemated. They had a lot of key penalties like offsides, false starts and holding and tripping calls that forced drives to stall or have to overcome long drives possession after possession.

We get always quoted as having all the talent but it never materialized in games consistently.

We certainly had production passing but usually during comebacks of 10-20 points down where defenses are playing prevent.

So what I am saying is..

we need to stop believing this thinking we are better than we are.

We are flawed all over the team and there is more to be done than we as fans want to admit.

Nothing new for Cowboy fans. We have gotten used to believing Garrett and Stephen and Jerrah spinning it all to sell tickets.

But then around mid-season the team is in an active dogfight trying to get in the playoffs And lately it's been 50-50 we get there.

So how do you fix all these issues to move the needle upwards? McCarthy brings that.

If everything was replicated from 2019 to 2020..

with McCarthy and not Garrett..

we probably win 2-3 more games and everything looks completely different..

no money or huge contracts with Dak are needed to fix it.

Just focused coaching for a change.

so I guess based on this logic Tom Brady didn't earn his spot...because Bledsoe got hurt and he was handed the starting job.

can you think of a time a QB got hurt, his back up played and then when QB got healthy, he got his job back....that is if they were any good.

and please explain what does it mean to earn his job? you said that before, but seemingly don't understand one bit what it means.....enlighten us with your description of a QB earning his job.

btw, Moore sucked, absolutely sucked as a QB...he was at best an average college QB, who shouldn't have accepted being drafted and went into coaching right away. he had no place in the NFL. the only reason he was around is because Linehan couldn't admit he was wrong about him....

Keenum has been cut from 6 teams now? one team twice..... aha, he is so good, teams keep looking for the next QB.....

Sure why not? Dak is better than Marino too, while we’re all acting stupid...
no, you are saying, that Keenum is better than Dak, because he had one good season. I just gave you an example following your logic, now you are saying I am stupid...but...that means you are stupid, since I followed your logic...so are you calling yourself stupid? why?

I’m saying you can’t read, that’s for sure. And 2000 was not Dilfer’s best season anyway. It’s a baffling comparison to say the least.
