tunnel vision and not exploring all possibilities is the best way to run a professional football team. way to go stephen and jerry.

also a great thing to say to get leverage over dak in contract negotiations. smart!

Like Dak and his agent would really be fooled by them saying they will explore it.

You do not have leverage in the negotiations, The only so called leverage in these negotiations is how much is he willing to take a haircut for the team because everything else Dak has all the leverage on. You cannot have an offseason under a new coach without the teams starting QB. Dak will be the starting QB and if you franchise him he does not have to show up, if you make all these cutsy overtures you risk basically not having an offseason program while you just installed a new coach.

What else is he supposed to say? He literally just came out and stated that contract talks with Dak were "heating up".

Talk is cheap. I think it's silly that anyone takes either Stephen or Irvin seriously.

Brady isn’t even a thought because the Cowboys would be looking for another QB within a year or two unless anyone thinks he’ll still be effective at age 45. Heck, we would be looking for his replacement as soon as we signed him.

Stephen talks a big game about being all in ok Dak Prescott, but I still dont see a new deal for him.

I would be shocked of dak wasnt the week 1 starter, but until that contract gets signed all options are on the table.

If the Cowboys were picking high enough to be able to get a top tier college QB to groom while Brady was here, it could make sense bringing Brady in. But this team is not a Brady away from contending. This is not New England with Belichick at the helm. We all have our own opinions but I truly believe the QB position, or any other positions, needs to be McCarthy's decision.

Even then, it would make more sense to sign Dak to a 3 or 4 year deal while developing his replacement and then not extending Dak if he just can't be the guy...

Stephen sure knows how to negotiate. Why wouldn’t Dak ask for insane money when Stephen is out there tooting Dak’s horn every chance he gets?

I suppose thoughts can change as the impasse continues, but...

I don't think it's even a thought either way.
If by some wild scenario, Brady played a season or two for another franchise, I really think Dallas would be near the bottom of the list for several reasons.
A team with a good roster that has never won it all would seem like a top choice....in this unlikely scenario

Brady is still under contract until next month. If the Cowboys have interest, Stephen would not be able to express it. So, this is kind of a stupid question/tweet.
