I am not convinced that Jarwin is our TE of the future. He has made some nice plays but even without Witten playing his stats were not impressive.

there is a couple FA TE's (if the hit the open market) I wouldn't mind kicking the tires on.

1. Hunter Henry- He has had some injury issue's but the guy has the talent to be a great TE in this league.

2. Austin Hooper-Unlike Henry I have serious doubts the Falcons FO let's this guy walk but if they did I would hope our FO goes after him.

3. Jocob Hollister- He is a RFA and depending on what the Seahawk's want for him he would be worth a shot. he was 3rd on the Hawks depth chart and when injury struck he stepped up and put together some nice games.

Tes seem to be extra Wrs, Jarwin seems to be doing that, why sink resources into a position that we can upgrade later down the road, right now we need other pieces to make the team better as a whole. unless the TE can play ST, or defense, we need just a basic Te for now.

It would be smarter to send the Bucs a 5th for O.J. Howard.
He has all of the tools a TE needs and would get out of an offense that is a deep passing offense with two quality WRs sucking up the reps as well as Jameis' preferred TE, Brate.
Seems like it would make more sense to get rid of Brate and his contract.

Would the Chargers really let him go? Henry?
I think they would let him go if he wants much money. He hasn't been a world-beater or the Gates replacement they'd hoped.

He also arguably peaked as a player as a rookie. In his rookie year, he had his best yards per catch (steadily declined from there) and he posted his best TD total. He also was at his best at moving the chains as a rookie (30 1st downs on only 53 targets, whereas his workload has gone up since then but his 1st down total hasn't gone up much).

His counting stats have improved since then, getting more targets which leads to more catches which leads to more yards. But the TDs have gone down, the yards per catch have gone down, and the 1st downs haven't appreciably increased. He's a bigger part of the offense but he's a worse part of it than he was as a rookie.

Plus, the injury thing. He's a 4-year veteran. He missed one entire season. And he's missed about a month of each of the other seasons.

I can see the Chargers being fine with moving on from him. He didn't do much to make himself vital to them, I don't think.

Jarwin, Shultz , 3rd rounder, 1 or 2 final cut guys should be fine. Add to a WR group of Cooper, Cobb, Gallup, Smith, Brown, maybe bring Dez back...
Shultz is a back up caliber player. I don't want to spend any real resources on TE this draft, but I doubt he gets a 2nd contract. If he does it won't be a mega contract.
