Just because Brady is entering FA does not mean he is planning to leave NE; only that he is keeping his options open.

Also, if anyone wishes to recall, the Pats entered training camp with two pro-bowl-level WRs on their roster (Gordon and Brown; admittedly, problem cases) but then had cut both by @ just after the first game. Tom Brady spent last season throwing to Julian Edelman, a cast of nobodies...plus, no Gronk.

If Kraft and Belichick make a serious effort to upgrade the receiving corps, and the contract offer is reasonable, Brady ain’t leaving NE.

Would be somewhere between 50-60 million total with Garopollo

No, no. What I said was that it's likely a situation were the 9ers would be doing this with out Garopollo. If they make this decision, the circumstances would be the same as if it were us. It would be a one or the other type situation but in their case, they would look at it as "Hey, we are Close." Us, we would have to look at it and say, we were 8-8, how close are we?

Pay less for Brady than you would Wacky Dacky
Draft a QB in the 1st round, focus on defense for the next 2 drafts
Sign some other key fillers in FA, whether that's TE or defense (DT, LB, CB)

Make/Win Super Bowl 2020, 2021, 2022 and beyond. Dak goes elsewhere, is quickly forgotten about after 3 seasons...you know that'll happen

edit: Skipped a number.

BTW for all the folks sayinig Jerry won't fire JG, look where JG's at now! (Don't say he wasn't fired either)

For all the folks saying Brady is going nowhere, look at what's happening!

So for all the folks shouting Dak's not going anywhere...until that happens you just don't know, and why dismiss wishful thinking anyway? You know you'll be giggling when you wake up to "Blockbuster News - Brady Signs with Dallas for 2 Years!!!"

LOL.....wild offseason for sure

OMG, here we go again. Brady isn't going to sign with the Cowboys yet we will here all about it happening or wanting to happen. Please Jerry get the contracts with Dak and Amari and Bryon and Robert done so we can move on to those complaining about the new contracts. Pretty please.

Jerry will do whatever keeps us firmly planted into mediocrity.

I’d be shocked if whoever acquires Brady doesn’t have a deep playoff run while we’re watching it and making excuses about our OFFENSE or something.
fixed, and it'll be special teams fault

No to Brady!! No no no!

1) He’s on the decline, an immobile, 42 year old pocket passer. Remember Bledsoe?
2)As a Dallas Cowboy, he wouldn’t get the same protection from the refs. 4 or 5 or 6 games in, he’d get sacked and injured.
3)The Dallashate would become a national obsession.

Why would anyone want Brady? He has nowhere to go but down and at his age, the decline would be sharp and fast. It has already begun and is likely to be lightning quick.

If Jerry and co. don't want to pay Dak, I'd much rather start over via draft or a younger FA than cling to a 43 year-old Brady.

Peyton Manning has a superbowl ring playing worse than Brady would play after "lightning quick:"

Why are conspiracy theorists waaaaaaay more concerned with "Dallas hate" than the actual players?

If Brady signed with Dallas; Gronk if possible would probably join him.

Imagine Brady, Cooper, Gallup, Gronk, Cobb (or someone similar), and Zeke on offense.

With that offense; I do not know how opposing defenses would try to stop it.

Uh, sack him a few times to injured reserve?

Someone mentioned on the radio today trading Dak for Miami's first rounder (5th overall). I'd do that trade so fast it terrifies me. Miami probably laughs at us but if not, bring in Brady.

1st - 5th overall
1st - 17 overall
Tom Brady ( 30 mill for 2 years )

IS WAAYY WAY WAAAYY better then

1st - 17th overall
Dak Prescott (40 million per year )

My guess is he’s getting the chance to see what offers look like and won’t be happy with them but will set the market for NE to sign him
That makes sense.

His shelf life is too short. What team planing for a successful long future is going to plug him in at QB? He would have to go to a team that doesn't already have an established starter at QB. I know what you Dak haters are going to say, that's the Cowboys. Stop it, that is not the Cowboys. The Jones boys have already shot down this ridiculous idea so get it out of your head.

Joe Montana finished his career as a Chief and Favre as a Jet, so things like this happen but the Cowboys aren't looking to hire this dude because the Cowboys don't have an opening.

Brad is testing out how other teams value him, but the Patriots will match any offer and keep him.

If you brought in Brady, I don't think it would be for backup duty.
I imagine Brady might have enough left in the tank with good offensive line and weapons.

HOWEVER...that means you lose Dak.

You can't trade him unless you sign and trade or do the tag situation and someone agrees to terms.

And even if you did do that, you would have to hope for a good QB prospect to draft because Tom at best only has a couple years left in him if that.

Either way I doubt you would have both on your roster at the same time.
No one will trade for Dak because he will be a free agent. Dallas isn’t going to franchise him and pay him 27 mil plus what Brady would get.
