I think trading Dak (for any reasonable offer to be had) is moving backwards.

he’s not awesome, but he’s good enough if we fix other glaring / organizational issues.

He did? So, a QB needs to throw for 6,000 yds to make you happy?
Well, I distinctly recall two or three bad passes in the last two games and honestly, I don’t remember anything much before that but sure, why not. He left a ton of yards on the field
:omg:

Trading Dak is the best option the cowboys have , sadly it won’t happen coz Jerry likes Dak and is stubborn enough to sign him like he did with zeke and Dlaw and Dez etc etc . He just doesn’t like to lose players he likes , especially on offense .

the only hope is if some team beats the cowboys and gets into Dak’s head to move out of Dallas

the patriots didn’t discover Tom Brady until they were moving backwards. The Colts didn’t acquire Peyton Manning until they were rock bottom. Kurt Warner didn’t sprout out of STL until they were at their lowest point.

You know what happens when you’re too afraid of moving backwards? You keep Andrew Dalton 4 years too long. You give Kirk Cousins a record setting deal. You bet the house on Joe Flacco.

And now youre about to give Dak an elite QB contract after winning 27 regular season games the last 3 years combined. Because it’s perceived to be the best you can do.

I can't believe all this crazy talk concerning Dak Prescott. From Brady coming here to trading Dak for two firsts in the draft. People just like to hear themselves talk because there is zero chance of either happening. Why not talk about something realistic like how much better will Dak get under the new coach or will we get a good safety in the draft? All these trade scenarios are hogwash.........

But if you could land joe burrow would you do it? I would

what if you landed two first and was able to sign a phillip rivers type qb?
No one is going to trade for Dak because he’s a free agent without the franchise tag. So either he plays for the Cowboys or he’s a free agent.

If Dallas could somehow land Burrows that would be fantastic. I highly doubt that will happen. But as a Cowboy fan I just hope that the Commanders who are picking 2nd dont somehow land Burrows. If they do its just a matter of time before Dak drops to the bottom in NFC east QBs.

Trading Dak IS crazy talk simply because it isn't going to happen. Zero chance.

It would take the entire draft to get Joe Burrow. So that won't happen either.
Agreed, unfortunately everyone/team knows Dak is not worth two 1st round picks.

Of course since we all agree he's not worth the picks, the question is why do the same people think he worth paying as a top 5 player in the NFL.

No deal baby!
QB like Dak comes once in a lifetime.
Who else can guarantee 3 and outs GALORE and falling behind in pretty much everyone one of our games?
Who else has that pinpoint accuracy that makes DB shiver back there?:muttley:
Dak or bust baby I mean what was the Star before Dak????
What those 5 Superbowls Nah just luck man, not like Dak who has brought the glories of betaing monsters like the Giants and Skins!!!
They're an 8-8 team. No time like the present to start looking.

You can't trade a guy who doesn't have a contract, so it would take either signing him or tagging him. In either case, nobody would take Dak under either deal in exchange for the right to pick Burrow. Dak is a quality NFL QB, but Burrow is an elite prospect that will be on a rookie salary.

Why would the Bengals do that? The formula for winning in the NFL is quite clear. You need a QB on a rookie deal playing well above his pay grade which then frees up the cap space to load the roster with talent and depth at other positions.

This guy gets it. Its the elephant in the room. In the past 20 years, only two QB's on fair market value extensions won super bowls. Everyone else is either Tom Brady or a rookie or a cheap vet.

The formula for winning a superbowl is to have a cheap QB playing well. You are far more likely to miss the playoffs than win a superbowl by paying your QB big money.
