I like adding the 2 DT's (Davison & Elliott) but I think Thomas is best inside as well. He's not an athletic, bending edge guy IMO. He could play Anchor but that is Tank's spot. I'd want to try Thomas at 3Tech, where I think his quickness & strength combo would give guards fits. Weaver's another guy who wins with power and grit, he's not an explosive edge guy either. And we need to just cut Tyrone Crawford. We greatly overpaid for an average, likable guy and we've only made it worse by holding onto him this long in an effort to justify that initial poor decision.

DT Davison and S Dix definitely seems like the type of free agent moves we'd make.

Also, I'd hate to see Cooper in Kyle Shanahan's offense.

Just wondering is the Cooper trade based on some information or something you heard?

No, i just think it could be a possibility. And me personally id rather have multiple good WRs and sign more people able to help this team reach a SB then paying a WR that much money.

I also saw how much Dak and Gallup progressed with chemistry as the season went on. And it looked like Gallups was Dak's go to guy by the end of the season.

IDK about Thomas. McCarthy and Nolan like bigger guys who can get after it. A DL that starts Lawrence, Crawford, Davison and Thomas is alot of power. Then with backups like Weaver, Elliot Gregory, Hill. I would love to see the combinations they come up with. Remember Quinn wasnt getting the sacks he got this season. Gotta be different when you got a guy like lawrence taking that heat to his side to open it up for you on the weakside.

We traded for Amari, gave up a 1st. Is Thomas the player that makes up for the loss of the first round pick and Amari? San Francisco 2nd pick is near the bottom of the 2nd round .

I forgot about it at first and inserted it over the Dallas pick. Weaver would be the bottom Rd2 pick Dallas has

Crawford should be cut.

Cowboys should keep Cooper. Trade for Thomas when he could be cut? Far overpaying for him with your trade.

Signing Dez? Not only no but hell no. Doesn't have NFL talent and would be a HUGE distraction.

I don't mind the extension for Crawford. Its not a lot of money even if they have to cut him in the future. They need bodies on the DL. I won't be surprised if the re-sign Covington.

Dez I want him to retire....Cobb eh....I'd rather sign B Perriman 4.4 speed 6 '3 better hands, speed and size...watch his Tampa tape this year & probably cheaper than Cobb...L Hill mich CB ..I like him But super undersized 5 9ish I'd rather draft Motley ..Solomon Thomas eh..hes more a inside guy ...but not the type of DT Nolan likes...but not a bad plan just a few tweaks ..but I'd hire you as a assistant GM lol

Soloman Thomas is an average player who is about to be a cap casualty. This offense and defense would both be much worse.

Not a fan of the Cooper trade.

Thomas has negative value with his deal and the 2nd is a very low 2nd round draft pick.

Also, not sure if they want to go the restructure route unless it was necessary, like having 10mil free cap space.

Couple of notes:

-Thomas has been a major bust.
-Dez Bryant career is over
-Why trade Cooper? To retain, no ball skills Bryon? Remember the team pre-Cooper, passing offense was terrible

Like the idea of tagging and trading Cooper.

Jerry wont do it though. Makes him look bad for dealing a first and he likes to compound problems.

BJones will get more, Thomas you dont have to trade for, Dez you dont have to guarantee a dime to, nevermind the whole contract. Cobb wont get that much.

I do really like the idea of turning Cooper into a pick to fix the defense and addressing WR in the draft. Maybe not at 17 since this draft is deep there.

Dez Bryant?

LOL.

And Thomas as a DE seems like a HUGE step back at DE for a team that wasn't all that great at getting after the QB even when we had Quinn. While I don't think we could necessarily get our 1st back for Cooper, a low 2nd rounder and what is largely a bust of a DL isn't that great a return.
