The Dallas Cowboys have the 17th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, but that may not be good enough for owner Jerry Jones.

The Cowboys have several players scheduled to become free agents next month, and they may have to replace some of that talent in the draft. A source close to the team told Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network that Jones “wants to make a big splash” on draft day, which could mean Dallas is going to explore moving up the board.

According to Pauline, the Cowboys have done a lot of scouting work on Ohio State prospects. The biggest Buckeyes prospect is obviously defensive end Chase Young, but he is expected to go as high as No. 2 to the Washington Commanders. It would take a massive haul to move up from No. 17 to No. 2, so that seems unlikely for the Cowboys.

However, they could target Ohio State star cornerback Jeffrey Okudah, who is considered the best defensive back in the draft. Landing him would certainly qualify as a “big splash” for Dallas.

It's always good to hear Jerry wants to make a big splash in the draft.

Okudah
WR Ceedee Lamb
DT Derrick Brown

if he were...I'd take one of those 3.

We say this every year don't we?
We didn't say that in 2019 when we had no first round pick. But we really made a splash with Mr. Work Ethic Trysten Hill out of that football fount of greatness Central Florida's.

Blimey, with all the talk of splashes, I am thirsty for a Sonic Grape drink.... Where is me uber number?

Short of somehow getting Cincinnati's #1 pick, in order for Jerry to "make a splash" at the draft he'd better bring his own swimming pool.

Whatever. I support moving up for a difference maker. Especially when our last few drafts, with the 'stay-put' strategy, have resulted in the likes of Hill and Taco. LVE has had one great year and one bad, so jury is out on him.

Miami has the draft capital. Three firsts at #5, #18, and #26. Offer #18 and #26 to Cincy. If they take it, choose Chase Young, come back to get a QB #5.

If I were Miami, I'd be calling. (Bid low and come up as necessary)

I feel like every year it comes out jerry wants to make a big splash and since that claiborne trade we haven’t done much moving in the draft.
