QBs are expensive.
thats how its always been.
thats how it will always be.
we have a good, young QB who gets better every year.
lets stop pretending he's not better at his craft now than his rookie year...or '017...or '018.
he's clearly better.
no reason to believe he won't continue to get better.
and we can win with him.
solid player.
solid leader.
solid guy.
pay him.

Why are you worried about how Dak's contract will turn out. Who cares and not sure why you guys do. If it happens it happens- if it doesn't then it doesn't!

And Zeke and Lawrence were not the best at their positions but you don’t have to be to get paid.

To get paid by someone. There's a sucker born every minute. Based on production last year, both contracts were overpriced, and it wasn't a surprise in either case.

And that is why owners need to hold fast longer... Players get paid undeserved amounts of money cuz owners just pay it
Yeah because what one person won't pay another will. No competitive owner is going to sit back and let another team get a player for cheap because they didn't want to pay a certain dollar. That's free agency. If Jerry doesn't want to play in it then he shouldn't. But something tells me Jerry isn't hurting when it comes to money.

This is true but at the same time these players mean a lot to the Cowboys and our playoff hopes. IT is what it is.

Dak is much closer to the top of his position group than the OP gives him credit for. His career passer rating is tied for 4th among all active QBs.

I realize it's a complicated thing...but we've got nothing to show for those numbers. I believe each side has merit...Dak isn't terrible and a new regime might help win games.

On the other hand. Dak isn't winning critical games...and with the stats we've got nothing to show for it so what's the harm in moving on?
Standing firm that only one way is right as asinine. It's all a big huge gamble all of it. Roll the bones.

How long the contract for? One year? Let it play out jeeze.

At the end of the contract we can look back and beech and moan all we want. Crying about it now as like a spoiled petulant child who has zero patience or resolve. Or just something to beech about, pounding your chest like a know it all (who won;t come back when things play out different or WORSE the old "glad I was wrong" gimmick. )

Dak has played with one of the worst defenses in football. Special teams is garbage, too. He is asked to drive the ball and score 3-4 TDs on 80+ yard drives every single game. but simpletons like you don't see that. They blame it all on Dak.

It's a team sport. We win as a team and we lose as a team. It takes fixing the bad and keeping the good and knowing the difference to get better. Dak's career passer rating says he is the part we keep while we fix the parts that aren't so good, that would be the defense and coaching. The regime change will hopefully fix the coaching problem. The fixing of the defense will take a little more patience to see it fixed. FA and the draft will have to be focused on that effort.

So is dak’s management looking at the zeke and tank deals and how they handle it and planning to do the same. Will we see the front office standing their ground this time and pushing back.

zeke you could say was the best rb in the league.
Lawrence you could make a case for top 3 at his position.
But dak? Not close at this point. And to want $40 million. $5 million more per year than any other qb is ridiculous.
I have never seen anything like it. These Cowboys players are actually hiring agents to negotiate for them. They are trying to get the most money they possibly can. This is insane!

Only in Dallas right?

If their was no salary cap I would agree with you here, but with cap it affect the whole team.
I am taking about paying top dollar for subpar talent when it will take away talent elsewhere.

I don't honestly think it was any different. Seriously, I was a MOD at that time and I remember handing out my share of infractions over that deal. Heck, there are posters on this board, to this day, who hate me for my stance on Tony.

I myself didn't see it the way you did towards Tony.

Absolutely insane. They actually have a choice. Play for 33 mil and have a shot at a super bowl, or make 40 mil and don't. That's the way it works out. Me personally, I take the 33 and a shot. There are more things to life than money, and either way you're set for life. Why not be a multimillionaire w/ a championship?

Paying a player shouldn’t effect talent elsewhere if you are doing what you are suppose to do in the draft. Not only that but the salary cap can be manipulated.

A Super Bowl isn’t a 7 million difference. If you are a Super Bowl winner at 33 million you are one at 40z

Royce, you got this one wrong. The latest example is Wilson. 7 mil buys you those backup OL's you will need so badly.
