I wouldn’t trade down if I was them. Recent history shows you don’t trade down from premiere talent.
Agreed.

Also i'm not believing Burrow would refuse to play fo Cinny, especially since the 2 most likely teams to trade for that pick are almost equally as bad franchises (LA and Miami). He can't realistically say "I won't play for this dumpster fire organziation but i'll easily play for 2 other dumpster fire organziations"

Cincy is a laughing stock. This is the easiet 1st pick in recent memory.

Go ahead. Pull a Browns and trade away and get 3 or 4 players you cut within four years.

The correct thing to do here is draft Burrow, completely rebrand your org and promise a whole new team to convince Burrow and your fans that Cincy is not a wasteland

If I'm Cincy, I'm looking at moving down twice. Load up on 1's and 2's the few years. Having the first overall pick this year isn't helping them to beat the Ravens any time soon.

This would be dumb. If you think Burrow is a franchise QB, why on earth would you not take him? You need a QB to win in this league. Isn't like Lamar Jackson is some aging QB and you can wait until he retires to take over. A franchise QB can change a lot for a team. Trading down for picks was our strategy for so long and it got us nowhere. Look at how often Cleveland drafted high and how many picks they have and it got them nowhere.

What is wrong with quality rb play? Receivers, are a dime a dozen, but they keep getting paid. Every position should be devalued. Each, can be hit or miss.
Yes, they can but the RB transition to the next level has been easier on the RB's than the WR's. Based on the number of WR's drafted and the ones that make it, that's truly a risky pick.

Exactly. Trading down for picks when there is potentially a franchise QB at the first pick waiting for you when it could give new life to the fans and players is dumb on so many levels.

CIN has to take that pick, he's the no blame pick. No QB has ever done what he's done against top flight competition gearing up each week to stop him. If he busts, no one can blame CIN.

But pass on him and he turns out to be the real deal and that team with another owner/GM is going to have a hostile fan base on his hands. The only thing that keeps him from being outed as a moron is the one in Dallas.

The team that hopes they do pick him is WAS. If they're faced with passing on Burrow and Haskins turns out to be a bust, they'll look really stupid.

That's the problem with having that pick and a guy there like Burrow. Aikman had the same buzz, he was the consensus #1 QB and Jimmy had to take him but he still hedged his bet in the supplemental with Walsh.

With how that CIN team is run, I wouldn't blame Burrow for not wanting to be a part of it.

Did you think Mahomes was that talented at Tech? I saw him play and I didn't see him as what he is now.
He looked more wild because of his system and OL, but he had crazy arm talent and was a pretty good athlete. I don't think Tua is close in either. Especially with that injury, which was really nasty.

I'm just not as impressed with Tua as most.

oh lord. really?

picking the SURE FIRE qb isn't that easy. mahomes wasn't even the 1st qb taken. would you trade all that for just as good a shot at trubinsky?

ryan leaf?
jamarcus russell?
joey harrington?
matt leinart?
brady quinn?
christian ponder?
vince young?
sanchez?
leftwich?
d carr?
tim couch?

the list of 1st round or 1st overall bust picks is impressive. dak isn't a world beater no, but he's a damn sight better than every qb listed above and you're wanting to let that go AND 2 rounders just so you can roll the dice again?

i don't see the value there.

Yea. I’m not going to name them all but the list of first round QBs who were successful is even more impressive. If you have a chance to take a premier talent you do it. Now I’m not advocating trading Dak. I’m just saying

For a guy who thinks Dak is useless or overrated it’s funny how you throw out ridiculousness like this.

he sucks but he’ll draw two number ones?
You read it wrong. Trade 2-1s and throw in an average QB.
