Don't know if it's accurate, but I have heard reports the sticking point in the negotiations is not necessarily the money...it's the length of the contract. Dallas wants a longer contract that the Dak team.

I do agree that it's time to tell CAA that if they cannot come off their "demands" some they will simply tag Dak. Then, in the 3rd round, select Jalen Hurts out of OU. That gives a good QB behind Dak, and if Dak doesn't agree to acceptable terms give the job to Hurts the following year. Dallas has 3 more years of cheap QB play. If Dak does sign, you can trade Hurts.

We can’t walk away from Dakky . Jerry still needs to prove he was right.

He’s the top jersey sold. Puts butts in the seats. Has 15 different commercials and ties to our sponsors. A media goldmine for Jerry .

We still have fans who believe he saved us from Romo. What’s a few extra million. He’s a stud . Lol

On today's Whitlogue, Jason Whitlock discusses Dak Prescott's contract negotiations with the Dallas Cowboys. Hear why Whitlock thinks that Dak's mounting frustrations may lead to the Cowboys paying more for him than they want to.

I am tired of this.

Cut Prescott or give him the FT.
He is no franchise QB. And thats why you dont want to bind your faith on him for the next several years.

Instead trade him and sign Brady. With those 2 first rounders we can draft our franchise QB and bring him along and still Brady will bring us home at least 1 Lombardy in the next 2 years.

Good lord... Some people on this forum are simply delusional. Trade Dak for 2 first round picks? Ok, I'm on board... Which team is offering the 2? First, any team that desperately needs a QB is probably already picking in the top 5-7 of the draft. So... Why the hell would they trade away 2 first rounders for a QB whose agent is wanting him paid among elites? Second, any team who is picking low enough to be able to give away 2 first rounders, is probably happy with the QB they have, and certainly doesn't want to trade 2 first rounders for a QB threatening to hold out if tagged. Then we have the group saying, trade up into the top 3 and get a QB . Ok, with what draft capital? I know, let's mortgage the future for a QB that might not even pan out. The most practical approach is to try and come to an agreement with Dak, keep the deal short like Dak wants, give yourself an escape clause, draft a QB to mentor while you have Dak, or bring in a veteran FA. If the new QB or FA works out better, trade Dak next year to a team willing to take on his existing contract when the new CBA goes into effect.

Nobody is giving us 2 1st. Cowboy fans have bigger eyes for our QB than rest of the league.

I'm with you except for the Jalen Hurts part.. He's not a starting caliber NFL QB. Backup material sure..

Disagree, Whitlock is one of the few who don't fear the repercussions of being critical of the Annointed one. He is insulated from the usual accusations of having an agenda and just tells it like it is.

He doesnt have to overcompensate like Chris Collingsworth and lie about things like Dako buying his deceased mother a new house.......after she passed. And doesn't have to pull a Booger McFarland and embellish Daks input on every play the offense makes to bolster how he is viewed either.

He may have a different opinion on Rayne Dakotas value than you do but straying off the designated and expected line of thought doesn't make him a piece of crap.

I admire free thinkers like Jason.

How is making assumptions without any evidence telling it like it is? That's actually telling it like he assumes, and frankly I don't think he cares whether his assumptions are reasonable or not because the goal is really just to draw in viewers.

That is why you use the non-exclusive tag. If a team is foolish enough to give up 2 #1 picks and pay Dak then we gain a lot of cap space and have 3 #1s for draft capital. Dak's agents will find out their client's true value is closer to 27 million than 38 million.

Please. I have had a dislike for him long before Dak was even thought of. He’s crap. If you don’t know how to think for yourself and are a fan of those who enjoy the voiceless to continue to be voiceless and just like to fall in line and not stand up for yourself? You will like him. Enjoy him even. Would sell his own mother out for monetary gain.

The irony is that some of the Dak haters are the ones proposing we get 2 first rounders for him. If he's that good, how can he be the bum they say he is?
