Dak has never said he wanted 40
His agents job is to get best deal he can
Teams job is get the best deal for them they can
This will get done and it’s not gonna be 40
And it will be done by mid March

Hating agents is pointless. The team decides who to pay or not pay. Agents don't have magic powers that make owners overpay players.

Historically, players who represent themselves get hosed. When only 1 side in a contract has lawyers, the side without lawyers eats turds.

He should be judged for on the field performance in big games like at Philly and against the Seahawks. Games that count with the season on the line.
What about his game against the Seahawks in the playoffs? I can cherry pick too.

These guys are going to earn every bit of their 5-10% fees. I don't blame the agents.

He wasn't even that good in that game, lol. He couldn't beat a garbage Philly team to get us in the playoffs. We actually had no chance against the Patriots, Bills, Philly, New Orleans, Green Bay and Chicago. All those games Dak couldn't do crap. Lets not forget the loss to the Jets. Doesn't sound like a QB worth $20 million a year, let alone $35.

Agents have a fiduciary duty to negotiate on the best interest of the player. I'm sure these agents are less than 100% transparent in their communication with all parties involved.

Frankly based on how poorly many NFL players manage their money, I would guess that they are disinterested at best in "how the sausage" is made and just want the finished product... SHOW ME THE MONEY!

Pay Dak $185mil over 5 years with some playoff/superbowl escalators and call it a day.

Just franchise him and and see how 2020 plays out. This ongoing saga is ridiculous!

Lol you’re so wrong it’s funny. He wasn’t good in that game? He’s the reason we won you moron. Now you’re just making up stuff. How about when he destroyed Green Bay and Pittsburgh in his rookie year? And the jets? The guy everyone loves to compare him to lost to Miami. So I really don’t get that argument.

This isn't his rookie year and Zeke isn't the same RB either which is why we are seeing the real Dak. He wasn't asked to win his rookie year dumb dumb and nobody had any film on him yet. Fast forward to this year.

NE, Bills, GB, NO, Philly, Chicago and NYJ are 7 games that he couldn't get this offense doing a dam thing. All the stats and scoring in all those games came at the end of the game when the game was already out of hand. It was pathetic and sad. He was garbage and we had zero chance to do anything in those games because of his poor play.

I agree. Look at this uppity player hiring an agent and having the audacity to let him do the job he hired him to do. Ugh.

Lol goes to show you don’t understand how badly Dak has been held back by the outdated offense we were running. I can’t wait to see you eat crow this year after MM changes this offense around

They are the reasons for all this 40 million talk. I am a big Dak supporter, but right now he’s not a 40 million QB. He’s in the 32-35 range, definitely should get more than Wentz, and Goff! I heard that when negotiations go on most times the athlete is not around. They just let the agents have free reign, therefore when things stall or don’t get done or get done it’s the agents fault or success. A lot of time during negotiations the athletes do not get the truth about what’s happening until it’s over, thus why there’s a lot of agents turnover when things fall through. Sometimes the athletes will miss out on a couple of millions because they want to stay with their team, because they see what’s being built and how they are valued, they know that if they take a little less more help can be brought to the team or they just don’t want to pack up and move. But agents tell them flat out lies at times because they are thinking of themselves more than their clients, I guess you can’t blame them, they want to make a killing to. I just think GMs and Owners/FOs would come out better if they demand there be a face to face with agent and athlete in the room and the athlete actually take a hand in the negotiations and tell the agents that they work for them.
You desire an advantage to owners when there is a negotiation.

The NFLPA is a strong proponent for Players letting their Agents handle the negotiations and fighting for every last dollar. Also, don't believe Dak doesn't feel like he is owed back pay for the low salary and strong performance the past 4 years.

Agents just do their jobs.
I don't understand the vilification by some.

Dak is handling this through his representation and that's how it should be.
It's up to the FO on which direction to go.

The Philly game he played w/a bad throwing shoulder, right index finger & left wrist. Moore benched our two top wr's on the last play of the game with the division crown on the line on 4th & goal. What OC DOES THAT?!

Dak couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in that game. Shouldn't have been playing. Receivers were wide open. Coopper would have hit them. Maybe Moore. Even Garrett. The Eagles were playing cheerleaders in their secondary, and we put in our QB when he just couldn't throw. Another massive coaching fail.

Fittingly, it's the coaching fail that doomed Garrett. We put up 40+ in the game previous and after. Dline healthy. Zeke running with more authority. Despite the crappy record, winning the division means playing at home, where Cooper shows up. I wouldn't have been surprised with a home playoff win.

Four game win streak before a playoff loss away. Jerry would have totally kept Garrett.

Which is dumb for players, because they have other interests besides every last penny.

I'm not for players sacrificing their interests to the team, but they should realize that their interests don't perfectly align with their agents either.

Sometime early last season, Dak was a 33mil player. I understand that was the offer.

Contracts are only going to be going up and Dak shouldn't be in a big rush, so that 40 mil is looking less and less unreasonable to me. New contracts and a new CBA likely push up QB contracts. Maybe a lot. The scale is soon going up. I don't see Dak signing for even 35 at this point. 36-40.

If Jerry is determined to sign him, he should suck it up and offer to top Russell's salary and be done with it. Maybe get some concession out of Dak because thereby. Cause I only see Dak waiting for the inevitable market rise.
