OG Marco Rivera

Guy was all class and even offered to return his signing bonus to Jerry after he was hurt in the offseason.

I remember loving Isaac Holt, especially the season before the Cowboys caught fire and won SBXXVII. Aikman was out and Buerlein was the QB thru their playoff loss to the Lions ( who were being prematurely deemed by many pundits as the next big thing in the NFL - Wayne Fontenot was a genius at the time).

Cagy veteran presence in the secondary and a willing hitter. I really enjoyed his tenure with Dallas. They got him from Cleveland, right?
Vikes.

Keyshawn Johnson, Thomas Everitt, Ray Horton, Jay Novacek, Terry Glenn, Rahib ‘Rocket’ Ismael... sure, most will remember Charles Haley and Dieon Sanders. But how about excellent but lesser-known contributors like La’roi Glover whom played for less successful versions of the Dallas Cowboys yet were excellent nonetheless?

Name your favorite ‘journeymen’ Dallas Cowboys.
Vinson Smith, James Washington (would have been Super Bowl MVP except for Emmitt), Mike Ditka, Lance Alworth, John Dutton (replaced Too Tall Jones then played DT), Dextor Clinkscale, Anthony Dickerson (only LB to lead the Cowboys in Sacks until DWare), Miles Austin (single game receiving record), Don Smerek, George Selvie, Izell Reese, Anthony Henry, Ron Fellows, George Teague, Leonard Davis, Johnathan Cooper, Ron Leary, and Ryan McNeil.

I really didn't care for him. I was just joking. I did however actually like TO. I have an autographed photo of TO. As far as Hardy is concerned I felt that he was unfairly demonized. I won't go into the details but I'm 100% sure that he was the victim of a gold digger just like Zeke was.

That may be - but the Hardy stint was pretty underwhelming. For all the negative press the Cowboys received they got next to nothing from on-field contributions from Mr. Arsenal and Hoe on the Couch.

Jackie Smith is another Tom Landry phone call story.

In 1978 Jay Saldi broke his arm. So you guess it, Tom dialed up Jackie Smith's digits and asked him to unretire and play for the Cowboys. (One of the things Tom had going for him was play-off money). Smith played the 1978 season and the Super Bowl.

You can still google Jackie Smith drop.

Anyway Jackie retired again after 1978 and even Landry couldn't convince him to come back.

Jay Novacek was my favorite player who passed through. Novacek was one of the key players we added that helped turn the Cowboys into a championship team. Teams were letting go of their worst players in Plan B free agency and we struck gold with Novacek. The Cardinals were rarely using a pass receiving TE in their offense and let him walk.

RB Preston Pearson

Good players. All three have super bowl rings with the Cowboys.

Although not drafted by them, Olawale was originally a Dallas Cowboy to start his pro football career. I would suggest that is the disqualifier. But it is really a thread about fine contributors who were not originally DRAFTED by the Dallas Cowboys. I'll give you Olawale if you'll give me Tony Romo. ;)
Do I get Jermey Parnell...

Mike Ditka played for the Cowboys nearly as long as he played for the Bears.
