Nah I said solid QB's are easier to find then ever and some of those guys would play better in a more optimal environment like Dallas.
Why do you guys think the Cowboys are so good? Romo would get hurt and this team wouldn't win a game. The same team that won 12(?) games in 2014 is the same one that won 4 in 2015.

2015 Romo was hurt, Dez was hurt, the back ups were trash, no defense to speak of.

I think almost any expert out there would tell you Dallas has a talented roster and a optimal environment for a QB to work in.

Do you think it’s trash or something?

I don't think its nearly as good as the "experts" say. IF it was they should've won more than 8 games. I don't think much of the Bills, Bears, Eagles and Jets and they all beat us.

What else would you like them to upgrade to make it better for Dak?

Well coaching is a start. I Don't want it just better for Dak....... I want it better for Zeke...... I want it better for Lawrence...I want it better for Chido...I want it better for everyone on the team. Wanting better than Garrett doesn't give Dak a pass but it surely acknowledges that he was a problem here.

Garret was the main problem.

Dak wasn’t a problem or a strength.. He becomes a problem when he is paid like he’s one of the best QBs in football unless he performs like he’s one of the best.

This means nothing to me. The Cowboys were coming off a 10-6 season where they won the division and won 7 of their last 8 games. They team looked set to do big things in 2019. What was their position of need? The drafted Hill at DT and perhaps that was a disappointment. but we knew he was a project. The Cowboys were drafting for depth. I still think Hill will be a decent 2nd round pick in a year or two.

But I will say this, if they can;t work something reasonable out with Cooper, and he leaves, then the 2019 draft will be a disaster.

Fixing the absolute worst special teams in the league and having a defense that actual creates turnovers would be a start. No team is going anywhere with those issues happening.

The offense had some bad games last year. But they were 1st in yards and 6th in scoring. The offense as a whole was much less of an issue as the special teams and lack of turnovers.

I’d agree If he doesn’t get better. I see no reason why Dak doesn’t continue to get better though.

It wasn't Jerry being Jerry.

We had no 1st round pick.

Our DC#1 and DC#2 wanted the DT over the safeties.

Their 3rd round pick got injured, **** luck.

4th rounder was a RB, that did well in a limited role.
We had no first round pick is Jerry being Jerry. Then us not getting much from the rest of the class is par for the course. Don't delude yourself. This was a typically bad Cowboys draft.

A year ago most loved the trade for Cooper. Honestly, it wasn't a bad trade, just depends now if they can retain him or not.

It was the first trade for a receiver that didn't immediately backfire lol.

Yea, most of the draft didn't contribute this year, but I'll wait and see this year to see if Connor McG can do anything at guard or Hill shows up and gives effort.

I would say it's a bad trade if we don't sign Cooper to a long term deal. It's a quick fix to a long term problem. I wasn't a fan of the trade and the fact he's rumored to hit the old dusty trail for greener pastures makes me like it even less.

Wrong player and wrong position. That was an obvious deviation from BPA strategy and going for need. Thornhill should’ve been the pick but we got Captain Terrible Hair instead. Just like taking Soft Taco over TJ Watt. Buffoons.

It was a terrible draft. Being 10-6 isn't an excuse. I've seen plenty of SB teams over the years draft much better than we did last season.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan

Fans that obsess about Jerry doing what they do...being idiots.

Tony Pollard would be a 2nd or late 1st in a re-draft.

McGovern exceeded expectations in OTAs prior to the injury.

The coaches played Hill only at 3tech DT in the preseason then almost all of his regular season snaps were at 1tech DT...

Mike Jackson was claimed and signed to a 53 man roster. They tried to keep a 5th round pick on the practice squad. Is that a draft pick fail or a gamble that failed. Ron Leary was on the practice squad his 1st season. Was he a failed udfa signing...

Joe Jackson contributed in real games.

The 7th round DE went to IR.

In reality, the Hill pick is the only issue. They knew he was more raw than the average 2nd round pick. Taking a chance on an under-developed but physically talented DL is probably a better risk than druggie, injury risk player or criminal.

Their mistake might have been over-valuing X.Woods ability at FS. Kris Richard's evaluation of X.Woods caused them to put less value on Thornhill in the draft because they wanted a Strong Safety, not a CB/FS tweener like Thornhill.

They gambled that the SS they wanted would make it to #90 but he was picked at #81. That player started multiple games at SS as a rookie.

The Cowboys approach to the draft is light years better than the days of Jerry and Larry Lacewell drafting a player because their buddies told them the player was really good (Dwayne Goodrich, Quincy, etc..).

Their only weak spot in the process in recent years has been giving Marinelli too much input. Will McClay would have picked someone else over Taco and Hill without Marinelli's input.

Go forth Jerry obsessed fans and be free to be create idiotic threads. If CZ had existed in 1989 it would have been the same. The idiots would have gone into hiding during the 3 Super Bowl wins in 7 years but would have come out as soon as the decline started...

Exactly, they knew Hill would take more development time but he has the physical skills to be a beast. The pick was a gamble but we weren't going to know how it turned out one year after the pick no matter what.

It wasn't a very good draft class. Go back and look at the first couple of rounds. Not many outstanding players for any teams.
