Elite QB’s are the clearest path to remain a consistent contender over an era despite other weaknesses and shortcoming on the roster due to the Cap.

And the more times you can take it to the brink the more opportunity you have of breaking thru.

Limiting the results to only winning Super Bowls is creating a narrative to support an argument.

The teams with Elite QB’s are more often and consistently making deep runs in the playoffs to championship games and Super Bowls.

Very true an Elite QB makes you a consistent contender to be beaten in the playoffs where everyone is good and well coached . The team that can afford a few more Elite players at other positions because their QB is not breaking the bank has an advantage . A QB can still be Elite and be on a rookie contract not making much money . This isnt about how Elite your QB is its about how much can you expect to pay any QB and and win a SB

Depends how talented the QB is.

If you have to pay a QB who has to have a great supporting cast around him that's when you have problems.

We have problems.
Looks like the top paid QBs are not talented enough to offset the lack of cast around them after they got paid

Aaron Rodgers disagrees w/ you!!!!

And there's much evidence to the contrary. Take Brady out of the equation, due to having an all time great HC, and you don't get any success after being paid. Can't really think of any QB who has even made a super bowl since being paid.

This is exactly what Im saying . It keeps teams a couple players away from winning a SB and that is supposed to be the objective

Packers are always in the hunt as most consistent contender this era in NFC with what 5 championship appearances and about a dozen playoff appearances. Limiting the discussion to only SB winners is spinning a narrative to support an argument.
No winning a SB is the goal of every team not being the most consistent team to play in championship games and lose because you are a couple players away .

It’s the ultimate goal but tough to complain about being a strong contender practically every year cause the more chances you have the better opportunity to finally break thru.

What Cowboy fan wouldn’t trade for the Rodgers era with Packers?

It dosent look like very much to me . Are the Packers , Seahawks , Vikings , Steelers Lions winning SBs

Pats with the GOAT at a very reasonable figure are pretty consistent at it , A guy that not only elevates the players around him but plays cheap seems to be the answer.

How much was Nick Foles and Wentz making together when they won it How about Flacco and Wilson when they won SBs or Mahomes this year Didnt Peyton take a pay cut in 2015 so the Broncos could get it done .

This isnt about Dak wanting to get paid THEY ALL WANT AND DO GET PAID . The difference is their respective franchises dont SQUANDER their rookie contracts and provide the team with talent and coaching to get it done before THEY HAVE TO PAY THEM!!!!

We didnt make use of the window of opportunity and IMO it dosent matter if its 30 or 40 MIL WE NEEDED TO GET IT DONE WHILE IT WAS 650K
Now we will be a few players away like all the rest of the teams that have had to pay . No matter how well we are coached or how well Dak plays it wont equal the 6-8 impact players we could have for 30 -40 mil
There is no magical #. It’s all in how you manage the salary cap. Cowboys do a good job of that.

The QB that just won the Super Bowl will be making 40+ M. The opposing QB he was facing is making 27M per season. The top four highest paid QBs in the NFL all made the playoffs last season. The lesser the QB the better the team, especially the defense has to be around them. If you’re looking to win a championship you can’t go cheap with a lesser player at the most critical position on a football team.

The Chiefs had great coaching and talent . They got it done before they had to pay the 40 mil Now watch them try and do it after paying him

Heard Eagles fans complain till they got rid of Andy Reid and the Packers fans obviously were not satisfied with getting close

The thing is the Packers had a GOAT level QB in his prime and was noticeably carrying every aspect of that team.

Firing Reid was dumb and the team paid for that.

Garrett was the reason for the failure and his offense, now Garrett is gone and it falls on Dak. Of course if Dak goes then we go back to Jerry. lol

You need to establish a great coaching staff first , We did not do that . We played Jerrys friends and Family plan while squandering Daks rookie contract . Now we have an NFL coaching staff that could take us to the next level handcuffed with working around Daks new salary no matter what it is 27 -32 - 35 -40 Million

It dosent matter its not 650k and makes it harder to win a SB . You need to plan properly and make the push to win before you have to pay the QB . Seahawks , Eagles ,Chiefs

To keep getting it done they’re going to have to pay Mahomes. In only two seasons he took them where they haven’t been in 50 years. I know there’s at least one idiot on this board who thinks the Chiefs would have won the Super Bowl without Mahomes. He thinks they should trade Mahomes for a bunch of draft picks and they won’t miss a beat. Lol

Coaching can make up for a great deal of not having raw costly talent. You seem to discount that with the Pats and Cowboys.

It depends on how good the QB is. If it’s Pat Mahommes you can pay him more than Cooper Rush and win a SB.
