Football fans like the idea of more football. But do they really want more football? The next experiment begins in only two days. The XFL is back, after a 19-year absence. Fueled by the reality that people who will be placing legal sports wagers will need more sports on which to wager plus an investment [more]

I'll watch a big name like Johnny Manziel or something like that but if Landry Jones is the best they can do then i'll pass.

They already said they weren't interested in Kaepernick and I would think that is the guy they would want to go after to get some attention.

Not sure if anyone answered this yet, but they did go after Kaepernick, and in a league where QB's are set to make around 550k a year, he demanded 20 million.

Vince McMahon has said he'll fund it for 3 years. The NFL will never allow a developmental league because it costs too much to maintain. That's why NFL Europe failed.

Vince McMahon the wresting guy............. he ain't funding nothing unless its making him money.

I saw a good review of the XFL on Youtube. I liked how they set up the kickoffs! I want to check it out. Where can I see the XFL?
fox and abc are airing games on sat and sunday. espn airs some, and nfl network has some exclusive games.
you can get or watch some on youtube, just search xfl full games or streams.

I watched 3 of them last weekend and they are just as fun to watch as say cin playing jags.
I think the uniforms and mascot names are not very good, even childish , but the games are ok.
I just dont know if I can like any one team more than the others.

I dont watch any other sports, so I will watch the ones I can , and see if I do start to like one team.

The one thing they do which is supposed to be interesting but to me it just shows how stupid the coaches are.
They let you hear play calls by the oc and some of what HC says on sideline.

I was watching one game, I think it was the seattle oc up in booth, and he seemed to be just picking plays at random, he wasnt watching game
or reacting to defense, he was just eny meany miny moe ok this one lol.
And the oc on other side kept saying " just do it again" lol, like that worked do it again.
This is why I wonder why qb's cant just call the plays, these oc's even in nfl are not really that good at calling plays.

I will watch, simply because there is dead time on the weekends and outside of golf when Tiger is contending, there really isn't that much out there that is must watch sports programming. If I am sitting on the couch or at the table working....football makes a good noise distraction. More than anything, I can't believe it has been 19 years since the original XFL. I would have guessed less than 10. I am clearly getting old. One thing doesn't seem to change....Dallas team is hyped and underperforms.
they said dallas team was favored by 9 points in game 1 and expected to win the league champ.
Meanwhile they lost game 1 9-15 landry jones is the qb, but he didnt play game 1

If I was starting the xfl, I would have had all the uniforms be the same style, helmets too. Also simple uniforms with good colors.
Then I would make it so the games had a lot of scoring. People like offense, and exciting high scoring games.
I watched one of these, and final was 15-9, only 1 td scored, and that is no way to get fans interested.

The whole idea is to get people to watch the games, not present teams where defenses dominate.
Then the uniforms is like watching 2 college teams play only not as much scoring.
One helmet may have no stripes, another 1,2, or 3 stripes. They may be solid colored or 2 colors and the mascot on helmets, you cant tell what half of them are.

Very easy to do, as the NFL has become a weekly flag fest.

People complain about this, but the reason officials are throwing flags is because.....players are committing violations. To demand that NFL refs throw fewer flags would be to demand that they turn a blind eye to fouls.

if the league last 3 years, SA will probably have a team, houston and dallas are in and the SA team last year had a good following.
I agree. Last year in the one AAF year, S.A. blew away the other teams in attendance.

Embrace it, for me absolutely not. But that doesn’t mean I won’t watch it. The NFL is the only Organization I’m passionate over

If i were starting a football league, I would cap player weight at about 260 or 270 and make the product like the NFL circa 1980. The games would be quicker, and you would get truly good athletes who just aren't big enough to play in the NFL. The hard part is that the AAFC and AFL came about at the right time, when the NFL still had room for growth. The USFL got competitive by raiding the NFL, which was probably underpaying its players. Certainly the Cowboys were. We don't think about it now, but the USFL really snatched away a lot of top prospects during its run and the NFL was starting to feel it. I don't know what this league is really doing. Last year's AAF didn't have a call to action.

You're not really a junior pro football league unless there is a team in both San Antonio and Birmingham.

Yup,....the USFL was a good product with great athletes. Jim Kelly, Steve Young, Hershel Walker, Flutie, Reggie White. On and on and on. Started to sign FA's away from the NFL too. I think L.B Stan White of the Lions was the 1st to defect if I remember right.

He's lost money on failed business ventures before.
Look at his 1st attempt at the XFL.
