1.If we take Dak's supposed threats of "Holding Out", as a serious Bargaining Chip, to be believed.

2. If Jerry & Dak are unable to come to a Gentleman's agreement by the time of the Draft. (Therefore causing the Cowboys to miss out on 1st wave of Free Agency)

Will this force The Cowboy's to draft a QB ?

And if so, How high of a draft pick would Cowboys be willing to spend?

I believe the answer to be yes.

Dak is playing with fire, if a highly touted QB should be there when we draft in 1st round, I think Jerry pulls the trigger.

Dak's goose may be cooked if he plays hardball.

Could you imagion the irony if Dak forces the Cowboys to draft his own replacement this year

I believe this scenario could play out if these negotiations turn ugly.

I for one would be pleasantly surprissed

It’s done. He is getting a 4 year deal with 3 year out or opportunity for extension. That’s when it gets nasty. Especially if he helps us to the playoffs or SB. He will want 50 million a year after the new CBA.

We'll just start Clayton Thorson, bring back Mike White to be his backup, then draft Trevor Lawrence next year.

Side note: I fell and bumped my head right before I wrote this.

Yet another Dak thread without a hint of an original take.

I think we draft a QB either way. Jerry got caught with his pants down on this one.
He's definitely learned the need for a proven backup through this mess.
I believe Cowboys will Draft one but not because of Jerry learning from his mistakes . . . He never learns from his mistakes.

I believe Cowboys will draft one because of Mike

I could be completely wrong about the eventual outcome but I will be laughing my <expletive> off on the day a contract is finalized between Dak Prescott and Jerry Jones. In my opinion, Jones has been 100% supportive of Prescott as his franchise quarterback since late October/early November 2016 and will do everything humanly possible to keep Prescott for the long-term. So, on that fateful day, I will reflect back at all the countless anti-Prescott threads and posts, made over the course of the past four years, and probably fall out of my chair. Literally.

That too. Green Bay drafted 5 while Big Mc was there.

JJ will overpay for another player that has not won anything. But my hope is in these players playing fir a new staff!

Drafting a QB is a complete crap shoot. Just ask Denver.

Even high draft picks can play poorly, look at Mayfield and Trubisky.

Dak has all the leverage since it will be next to impossible to quickly get another QB as good as he is.

The 4 year experiment should be over. We got him cheap and it’s served it’s purpose...whatever that was! Let’s move on and build a real SB contender with a real NFL QB. So what if it takes MM 2-3 years. We’ve already waited 25+ years on JJ’s insanity.

We'd have to be picking in the top 5 to have a shot at a QB good enough to give the team any leverage here. Jerry picking a Paxton Lynch type of project late in the 1st isn't making Dak's camp lose sleep.

That said, I don't think the holdout talk is legit anyway. If we tag him, I think he 100% shows up on time and does his best to absorb the new offense and make himself look as good as possible since he's considering it a contract year with a lot riding on it. They can float the idea that they'll stay away as much as they like right now, but how many QBs actually go there and stay away from their team? It's very rare, and for a reason.
