Who gets better if we trade an elite 25 year old WR for a 30 year old TE who has only started all 16 games one season out of seven?

I know the answer and its "the Eagles".

What does a complete lack of a college education and an unaccomplished “career” get you?

I know the answer...it’s kaiser in a ground-floor studio apartment in Ranch Cucamonga.

Some eagles fans are better at disguising themselves than others.

They've never been known for being very intelligent.

I would love to have a TE like Ertz, but not for that price. Im optimistic we can find one in the draft.

Trade idea...presuming we don’t franchise Dak

  1. Use the franchise tag on Cooper
  2. Trade Cooper to the Eagles for either Ertz or Goedert (Eagles would likely offer Ertz over Goedert)
Rationale

Cowboys may have some reluctance to signing Cooper for a long term contract worth ~$19-20M per year.

The Eagles actually offered a 2nd round pick to the Raiders for Cooper before the Cowboys outbid them with a 1st rounder. The point being is the Eagles have had recent interest in Cooper and in need of a #1.

Ertz will be 30 when the season starts while Goedert is just 24. I would guess the Eagles are looking to get a real threat at WR to pair with Wentz. Cooper could immediately renegotiate for a longer contract once traded.

Ertz would give the Cowboys a proven playmaking TE to pair with Dak. Dallas could also possibly grab Jeudy or Lamb should they drop to 17 or make a move to grab one if one is in striking distance.

Ertz is only due $6.6M in 2020 and $8.5M 2021 and then becomes a FA.

Dallas would be saving money by making this move and could utilize the extra cash on signing its own players or signing FAs.

Id rather keep Coop and add Ebron or OJ Howard. I think that's a solid plan though Id rather go defense in the first.

Why would the eagles do that? He’ll need a new contract once we’ve trade for him. So if we were going to pay him that much, why wouldn’t we just wait until he’s a free agent and then save our TE’s?

Lol, they’d be trading their 30 year old TE to allow their 24 year old stud (Goedert) in the wings take over.

You do realize had the Eagles traded for Cooper in 18 they’d be in the EXACT situation the Cowboys are in now, lol?

Except we’d still have Goedert and Ertz

Personally, I feel like McCarthy’s offense is a better system for Cooper than Garrett’s was. I think that Amari can be even more productive than he has been.

I wouldn’t be huge on the idea of trading him.

a little off topic but, say we tag two guys and then trade one of them, could we tag one more guy or is two the limit for one year.

I'm pretty sure that you can only use the tag on one player per year, with either the exclusive or non-exclusive.
