Case Keenum. He is easily better than Dak.
Andy Dalton wouldn't be bad.
Marcus Mariota would be okay. He's struggled with a bad team in Tennessee, but the guy can play. Tennessee put together a run, but they just were learning as they went. Tannehill was better, but Mariota wasn't bad.
It’s fine if you don’t like Dak, but when you then ride the nuts of 3 worse QBs it proves you are nothing more than a troll. You’re just not as good at it as Pappy is.

Anyone that possesses the smallest amount of critical thinking regarding your favorite team, you label as a hater.

And you call that keeping it real? Lol
Again, let’s keep it real. I only label a hater when said hater constantly bashes the Cowboys thread after thread, post after post and day after day.

They bought insurance on Dak. He bet on himself and it paid off. Fair deal for everyone.

I'm disappointed. By your previous posts I thought you had some better prospects than that.

Dak wanting to be highest paid doesn’t sound fair to me. Just hope it is structured in a way that doesn’t kill the cap.

Ive never heard Dak suggest he wants to be the highest paid. I have heard him suggest that he he didn't expect to be the highest paid, but that was prior to last season.

There are better prospects. I would love to see the Cowboys trade up to get Joe Burrows.
I would love to see them make a deal to get Russell Wilson or even Derek Carr.
But the point is that Case Keenum is an easy fix, and if he had been the Cowboys quarterback in 2019 the Cowboys would have been deep into the playoffs.
But because we had Garrett- who decided that Dak was his best chance of keeping his job- we had Dak.

Cowboys got lucky here, IMO. We were hyping Dak early in the season. Then, we saw his underperformance this year. We potentially would overpay Dak. Hopefully, Jerry is paying attention but I worry about Jerry overspending as usual.

His bet on himself season was a disaster but for some reason people call it a win for him.. He didn’t do anything we already didn’t know about him.

The problem has always been does that level of play validate the type of money that puts your team at horrible odds of winning a championship,

I feel like the goal of winning a Super Bowl is completely lost around here.

The other thing people never seem to consider, or they think it's a given, will Dak be paid that much by someone else if Dallas doesn't pay him? Someone else would have paid Wilson. Someone else will pay Mahomes if the Chiefs don't. Is that market there for Dak? Is he at the level to be paid market value? He doesn't awe anyone. But either did Cousins or Alex Smith and they got paid. I really don't know. That's why I bring up the transition tag. That's an open market with the option to match.
Yes, someone will pay Dak. We think he's middling, but the league has plenty of teams with cap space who would take Dak one their QB at the price he wants.

I'm not saying that means we should go 38, but that's the choice.

Not sure it's lost on everyone here, but certainly on the Jones boys.

That reason is because he improved the quality of his play, across the board, by any reasonable measure of a QBs performance.

You’re weighing the cost of doing business with a franchise QB too heavily if you think locking one down at market rate runs contrary to the goal of winning championships somehow.

If you’re completely lazy and only look at stats then yeah he improved..

The question I still have about the guy, and I think I know the answer to now, is can he elevate the players around him...? Did some aspects of his game improve? Sure.. But it was nothing drastic. The micro was a little better but the macro was the same.

He crushed the Commanders and Giants.. 2 teams drafting top 5.. Those 2 teams won him his “bet” and inflated his numbers.

It’s not just stats. He improved.
The “elevate the team around him” argument isn’t actually a measure of anything. It’s just a vague criticism with no measurement attached that attempts to make a negative where there really aren’t any. We had a very productive offense last season.

What hurt us was turnover differential and ST. Neither of those are really on Dak.

We were very good on offense.. Against bad teams..

The turnover differential is an excuse.. Our team was built to keep teams point totals low.. They had no interest in taking the ball away.

You can’t reason with this guy. He lives in Daksville. It obvious he’s legally blind. Seriously, I think all his post are just sarcasm. Dak was awful last season.

Very good in general. All good offenses are better against bad teams. That’s not insight.

I think it’s silly to boast about something you say all good offenses do anyways.

Our incredible offense had some big big problems against good teams and even some of the bad teams like the Jets, and @Eagles.

The truth is.. Our offense wasn’t very good.. Talented? Sure.. But they inflated their numbers on bad teams.

Almost all good offenses have some bad games against good defenses. That’s life in the NFL.

If you’re looking at the Jets and Eagles games, the issues there were having two starting OTs out for the Jets and a QB who’s generally very healthy playing with a shoulder injury that affected his play fairly significantly for two and a half games last season. Those are issues that would affect any player at the position.

There is no way, any objective observer actually watched Dak play last year and would conclude he didn’t improve.
