For the 20th time, NO sane FO is giving up 2 first round picks for Dak!

Wish it was the last time we had to hear that. (but if they did it wouldn't be for Dak).

But seriously: Why does that thought put a knot in your knickers (it is the rules)?

It's NOT the TOP QUARTERBACK that worries me. Dak will be Dallas' QB for many years to come.

The Boys have tempted fate the last few years and gotten away with it because Dak is a big, strong QB, who’s as durable as they come. He fought through a shoulder injury late in the season and has yet to miss a game in his first four seasons unlike Wentzie cough cough who has a handful of fans here on the Zone.

That said, Dallas would be wise to strengthen their backup QB spot. Nothing ruins a season faster than having a backup QB incapable of winning a few games, see '15 season.

MMA knows the value of a solid backup QB as proven in his resume when Wodgers went down. Rush wouldn't keep the Boys competitive should the team need him to play any significant games.

It's obvious Jerry's in win now mode and they’ve built a team that is trying to compete for a Super Bowl in the upcoming season. It would be a shame to have a season go down the drain because they didn’t have a competent backup QB. It could get a tad expensive but some of the options include @leeblair "Keenum", Mariota, Matt Moore, or Chase Daniel.

I guess I just can’t understand any football fan who watches Dak play think he’s worthy of 2 first round picks. I’d love to see it happen tonight! Lol

Okay, I never thought of that. I just assumed they were trying to see who they could upset. :muttley:

If a top QB falls, I could see us trading down with a team that wants to move up and grab him. I cannot fathom any scenario where the Cowboys draft a QB in the first round.

No way Dak
We have a lot of holes to fill on our defense but with an "unknown" happening with Dak,what if a QB falls to us. It has been said that Dak will hold out if he is tagged so things could get a little dicey in the near future.

So, if there is a top QB on the board would you pull the trigger and draft him?

I have no fantasy about Burrow or Tagovailoa falling but what if Herbert is there?

I like the kid, good size and some really nice stats but not sure I would want to gamble away Dak (as much as I do not want to pay him $40 million).

For me it would have to be getting the 2 1st rounders for Dak, if we can, I would do it, if not then no.

IF someone offered 2 first round picks for Dak, Jerry might take that, but i doubt it. No way Dak sits out either, he would be flushing 30M+ down the toilet and would never recoup that in future contracts. Teams don't like being held hostage, other owners would pay attention to that.

Dak will be signed before the draft. So if a top QB fallas to the Cowboys, I hope lots of teams call and the Cowboys make the best deal to trade down they can.

If a top QB falls Dallas may have an opportunity to trade back for a handful of picks. Dak Prescott will be signed to an extension before the draft.

I'm on the fence about extending Dak, but it doesn't matter. It's going to happen. I see no reason to delude myself with fantasy threads.

What are you feeling. Mostly Defense. DT and Safety. Maybe a corner early if we are losing Jones.
Yes. Exactly those three.

I would rank them as DT, CB and S, although I know most mocks and fans have is taking a safety in the first round

I’m afraid we’re going to lose Jones and Chido, imo, was very shaky last year in some big games. I’m terrified of him being our #1 CB

I like Heath and Woods over Chido and Goodwin

Now it’s likely we tey to address all three in the first four rounds so we’ll have help coming but I’m just anxious about CB.

if we keep Jones, then I would be fine with a CB in the third round instead of the 1st or 2nd

And some people think Prescott sells tickets.....and is accurate. And they would be wrong.

These types of threads always take me back to that fateful draft when Aaron Rodgers fell. A good number of draft gurus ranked Rodgers as the number one quarterback prospect. Crazy stuff. Cameras kept cutting back to Rodgers sitting in the green room. Isolated. Looking like he was thinking, "What the heck is going on?" He was far from alone thinking the same thing.

No doubt. Top quarterbacks fall in the draft some years.

Personally, I try not making proclamations. This will be an exception.

I will go on record. Jerry Jones will not pick a top ranked quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft, regardless whether said top quarterback falls or not.

It will not be the first time I have been wrong in life if Jones pulls the trigger. It would not be the last time either, lol.

What will Jerry Jones do if a top quarterback falls the night of April 23 in your opinion? And please. Pass the popcorn.
