Slay is arguably best corner in nfl. Will make 10 million next year and then will get paid.

Zeke we all know about.

Detroit supposedly shopping Slay and they are in dire need of a great back.

I could be talked into a 3rd rounder thrown in with zeke.

Sacks are a lousy stat to judge a player by. When judging a pass rusher its best to look at how often and how fast they win their 1 on 1s, how effective they are against the run, and how often they are getting double teamed. Sacks just have too wide a variance to be a valuable statistic whereas those numbers will consistently show how a player is looking over the course of the year.

and when the QB is tossing TD's while the pass rusher was doing everything but sacking QB......optics just not good

I mean is the QB getting the ball out in under 2 seconds because if so a sack is impossible? Is the defender being double teamed? If so he should not be winning that block. It does not matter how a situation "looks" it matters how a situation is and sacks do a bad job telling how a situation is. A guy who takes 5 seconds to win a 1 on 1 and gets a sack because nobody got open should not get more credit on a play where a defender beat his blocker and made it to the QB but the ball was out in 2.1 seconds so all he got was a knockdown.

If you watch any of the games, you would stop telling this media based lie. The Dallas line has not been good since the 90's. Every year, the media states how good the line is, but watching the games, you see different. Almost every year, some analyst, is putting the team in the Superbowl. Why? Is this based on reputation, how much they make, or plain hype?

The Cowboys were the #2 ranked line in the run game and #2 in pass protection in 2019. They were also the #2 ranked overall behind the Saints.

But say whatever you want, if it makes sense to you. Facts are stubborn things:

Not only did Zeke play behind the #2 ranked Oline, but he played in the #1 offense in the NFL. Just look at what Pollard did when he got the chance. He showed what a big play, quick back with vision can do. Zeke didnt even show up until the 2nd half of the season.

glimmer---- oh man shoulder issues including AC is a real pain...it is funny how doctors will just say..dont use it for months at a time....but personally i feel so grateful...i can raise my arm and pretty much use it as normal and very little pain....by the way...what is your prediciton or ballpark figure on cowboys win-loss record in 2020?
Well with our staff last year we went 8-8, if we had even a average ST we would have pulled 10 wins. With a better Defense then maybe 11 or 12.

This season with a new and IMO a much better staff as far as HC and no confusion on who is our DC and again IMO a much improved ST then we should have no problem with 11-5 minimum. They say we have the 3rd weakest schedule but the way the NFL teams go from year to year then I don’t buy into that. Also glad to hear you can use that shoulder semi regular.

Going on a limb with 14-2. Dak will be signed and no pressure there. New energy all over the team. Better ST and Defense. Elliot will be ready and in shape to start the season. Cooper will be healthy and another good off season for Gallup. 2020 it’s on.

Zeke’s problem is he lacks the ability to create plays on his own. He needs holes to be effective. He can plow forward for a yard or four but he isn’t going to juke someone in the backfield, he isn’t fast enough to turn the corner, and he isn’t breaking tackles behind the LOS and hauling off for a 70 yard gain like Henry did against the Ravens in the playoffs. I would hate to see how inefficient of a runner Zeke would be now if he didn’t have such a good offensive line.

Yah, I think his biggest issue is he lacks top end elusiveness. Hard for him to bounce it outside and then even when he does break the LOS and has to make a move for the long run, he cant do it. He cant beat the safety to hit the home run. Simply runs into the guy.

And I actually don't think his vision is anything special. If you watch that Pollard tape, the guy is great at his vision on where to hit and how to cut back. Big difference.

Big difference but Elliot is just so hard of a runner. He gets passed the line and makes yards after impact. He will roll people. Last season I saw a lack of effort at times. Hoping a new staff brings that new energy.

Threads like these are why I rarely visit this site in the off season. Not worth the effort it takes to respond. Smh

Slay has made the pro bowl 3 years straight. 19 picks.
@CowboyRoy a lot of people don't realize that Slay is turning into this generations Aeneas Williams. A great player on a pertipually bad team with no real exposure. I would love Darius in our shade of blue as opposed to the Lions. I think we have too many prohibitive contracts stacking up on offense.

Some people know other teams and the players, but most don't. Slay is as good as it gets as a corner.

Totally agree with you. I would be open minded about a trade if we're serious about a super bowl and or getting to one.
