A contract this high in broadcasting almost guarantees that he will not be returning to the NFL as a coach. I am happy for him. Suck it Joe Buck, at the end a Cowboy still got you at your own game.

Joe Buck is a play by play announcer, Romo and Aikman are color commentators. Not the same thing so I don't get your "Suck it Joe Buck, at the end a Cowboy still got you at your own game".

I guess a reasonable argument could be made that he’s driving up the cost of “cable” TV if he signs with ESPN... but CBS is obviously OTA and free.

There are already quite a few there are more and more streaming services that has already started to affect cable and dish services from keep raising their costs to them which raised the cost of cable or dish to the public. When these streaming services are gaining millions of customers that have quit their cable or dish services, it will just continue to put pressure on the cable and dish services to keep their prices in check. I've got a streaming box on my TV that I get ESPN and NFL channels as well as all of the movie channels and I just paid a one time fee for it and don't pay any monthly fees. Prior to this I had DirecTV for 14 years. They did give me a special price which I think they give everyone who has been a customer for 5 years or longer who hears about it and asked for it which was about 50% of what everyone else paid.

If I’m watching a regular season game I would take Romo because he’s laid back and exciting.

but if it’s the Playoffs give me Aikman all day... Troy calls it straight and breaks down the game great.

Aikman is still the top dog for me imo.

Good for him. I have Sunday Ticket and if there are two games I have a similar interest in I am going to watch the one Romo is calling every time.

Never really cared who was calling the games before.

Would be interesting to see what a game called by Troy and Tony together was like hehe.

Ya two color commentators and no play by play announcer. Color commentators don't call the game, the play by play announcer calls the games. Color commentators add comments about the players or the type of offense or defense was used or why this play worked or didn't work.

$20m means absolutely nothing to ESPN. Their revenue is like $10 billion lol.
Other than some MNF games, I don't watch 10 minutes of ESPN in a year. In fact, I watch ZERO ESPN because I don't have cable so when I watch ESPN it is on a streaming website lol.
