He has nothing on Antonio Cromartie.

At least he owns them all and takes his life as a family man seriously.
Between Cromartie, Flacco, and Rivers, there are 28 kids.

If any of their first born, I'm pissed I have to split that inheritance.

I don't know whether to agree or not. Stats without context are useless. Highs and lows even out over a season and you're left with no real means of understanding what happened in each game. And while season stats are great for accolades and personal highs/satisfaction, they mean very little in the grand scheme of winning and losing. So I went on a witch hunt.....

QBs who have thrown the Most Passes in a Game without throwing a TD.

At the top of the list is Dan Marino (38 of 60, 389, 0 TDs and 3 picks and Joe Montana (33 of 60 for 441, 0 TDs, 3 picks).
Matthew Stafford most yards in a game without a TD (37 of 56, 443, 0 TDs, 1 pick). It happens to all of 'em.

Of the top 100 games where a QB threw more than 47 passes and 0 TDs, there were only 7 wins and 3 ties.

If you look at post season, Steve Young went 32 of 65 for 328, 0 TD, and 2 picks. Lost to the Packer 27-17.

So it seems no matter how you slice it, if the QB position isn't producing points, you have a 90% chance of losing on any given Sunday.

(Dak, the highest ranked Cowboy, checks in at #201, 25 of 45, 0 TDs, a loss to the Giants (19-20) in 2016. His first game.

If you use stats, Dak is a good QB, if you use wins, Dak is a good QB. If you use his play in playoff games, he is a good QB. If you use the eye test, he is a good QB.

All those detractors have been proven wrong so far in 4 years. Only question that remains is will Dak ever be an elite QB.

Personally, I don't think he will, he will be just outside those guys. Like Romo. But you don't need an elite QB.

This team needs to focus on the defense. Coaching already taken care of in the short term.

If generalizations work for you Great!
If you don't care to dig into number Great!
If he passes your test Great!

But numbers alone don't tell the whole story Records don't tell the whole story. Eye test don't tell the whole story. If it did nobody at the combine would ever fail. Russell, Leaf, and Bledsoe would all be headed to the Hall of Fame.

Players with enough talent and good coaching can excel, look at Ryan Tannehill. Rivers never had a good o-line, he was on his back most of his time as a QB.
He has had hall of fame players on offense and many times talented skill positions and defense. He isn't an upgrade over what we have at this point in his career.

And he had taken saints to the SB
Maybe rivers can take his next team lol

There has to be a lot of “what if’s” with the Chargers amongst the fan base and the organization. What if Eli didn’t refuse to play for them, they could’ve had those two Super Bowl wins he had with the Giants. What if they kept Brees and traded Rivers, they could have had the Super Bowl win Brees had with the Saints. Would be their luck having to suffer watching an aging, declining Philip Rivers lead another team to a Super Bowl championship. lol

Well not taking risks. He had a lot of garbage time stats.
You don't end up 5th by nothing but garbage time stats in a few games. People like to pretend that was a game after game after game thing, but it really wasn't. There were a few games like that, but there were also a few of the early season blowout games where we mostly quit throwing the ball in the 2nd half and particularly the 4th quarter just to run clock. Those things tend to average out. And, of course, it's not as if other QBs don't also have garbage time stats. That isn't somehow a Dak only thing.
