While I agree that I'd rather go to the FA market for a safety than draft one, in general, it's flawed logic to think that any of these guys will be upgrades AND be cheap. That's just not how it works.

Half this list isn't an upgrade to Heath (Jefferson, Dix, Bell), the other half is going to be considerably more expensive (Harris), and the other other half isn't really a roster fit b/c they play the same spot as Woods (Randall, Boston).

Ward I'd like but he's always hurt. Can't depend on him for anything.

Well imo Delpit isnt a good tackler & hed have to play FS where Woods is ..McKinney doesnt have the range of Delpit ..but at 17. I think DT is our main problem....also depends on Cooper & Jones if we sign...

Yea, I like McKinney a lot more than Delpit, but I still wouldn't take him at 17 I don't think.

Kind of an unfair comparison because he turned into a perennial All Pro, but Id like McKinney as a Travis Fredrick pick. Board washed, trade down is present and you take the safe pick and pick up premium picks.

Not the best scenario. The safe picks can just as easily become Gabe Carimi as opposed to Travis Frederick. But thats the context in which I would be for McKinney

But if u draft Delpit ..he cant play SS cause he cant tackle...so now u move him to FS & Woods isnt a SS either ..so u didnt improve the SS spot

Yea I could get on board with that. Ironically, SF traded up to draft Eric Reid lol.

I'd be really mad if Dallas traded down and missed out on a WR, like they did D Hopkins that year.

Dallas has bigger needs than WR....unless Cooper & Cobb walk ..we wont draft a WR

I paraphrase Stephan Jones alot when talking about McKinney. " We liked Eric Reid, but 18 was too rich"

The defensive coaches should have a good read on Ward, Dix, Harris, Bell and Randall. I'd like for them to sign one of these Ss and also draft a guy preferably Antoine Winfield Jr..

Miles Killebrew, Clayton Gathers, Karl Joseph n Adrian Phillips are also guys who may come at a cheaper price DAL could look at SS.

I like Sean Davis as a CB prospect coming out college but he been playing S...could be a cheap CB signing.

Karl is still under contract for 1 year ...but they have Adam's coming off IR so he could be cut or traded
No love for Tony Jefferson?? Be a pro bowl guy only 28..am I kidding something?

Oh yeah, I liked Jefferson coming out of OU. I just don't like that he's coming of a knee injury. But, definitely the type of Saftey they need.

As long as the cost isn’t too high I’d be open to do signing a FA to 2/3 years and drafting someone to develop. We could honestly upgrade both spots.

I'd really like us to go for Vonn Bell, Trae Waynes & Javon Hargrave cutting Fleming + Crawford and not re-signing Cobb. That'd pretty much open up the entire board for BPA and I'd feel pretty good about going up and getting Kinlaw or Okudah as long as it wasn't too expensive.

I was a Woods guy but there is no question you could upgrade both the FS and SS spots if you wanted.

Wasn't saying I'll do both. just mentioning that if signing a safety in free agency.. Give me Haha Clinton Dix. If we get a safety via draft, the only two safeties i want in this draft class Xavier McKinney or Kyle Dugger.
