but he remains an average run defender.
What is Quinn paying you to upgrade his run D to "average"? Seats on the 50?
but he remains an average run defender.
Can't see how Clowney would see elite money.

You sure you're not just feeling a little salty because he knocked Wentz out early, in Wentz`s first start in a playoff game?Would be a Dorance Armstrong progress stopper.
balderdash. Stephen is one of the best at signing players to contracts and keeping the cap under control. now his daddy was another matter. Stephen does not get personally attached to the players the way jerry did.
Same thing Witten did to Gathers. Bassturd kept Rico out of the HOF.Would be a Dorance Armstrong progress stopper.
thanks for the follow up, BP. click bait just seems to be the rage these days and for good reason, it's about as far as most people read anymore. we have 100 page discussions over a headline anymore, not the topic itselfIf someone would click on the article and read it, it is not one of his normal click on it and pay to subscribe links. It actually lets you read the article and has a video on it.

With that said, he is talking about some other people making that claim that Cowboys could be interested in JC...however he says the following....
But we're not sure who actually views Clowney as a "franchise player'' - except, that is, for Clowney himself. In reality, doesn't he fall closer to the "needs-a-reboot'' category?
ut "pay him like a franchise player''? And acquiesce to his plan (per a note from Matt Miller of Bleacher Report) that he's "looking to reset the market''?
A “market-setting contract” means in excess of Aaron Donald's $22.5 mil per year, in excess of Khalil Mack's $23.5 mil, in excess of Lawrence's $21 mil. "It only takes one team,'' as the saying goes, to vault Clowney’s contract into that stratosphere. But there isn't any evidence that Dallas judges him to be "great.'' More likely? The Cowboys think he's a good player who needs to "reboot his career'' rather than as a great player who gets to "re-set the market.''
So as much as "Fish" annoys me with his attitude, click on the link to try and get you to pay for his write ups and his pollyanna jerry butt kissing....in this case he seems to be indicating that the only way the cowboys would be interested in JC is if he is willing to sign a decent deal and at this point he thinks he is not.

state of media and media consumption these days. growing up on it i guess it's all you know. when you've seen a lot less "sensationalism" as we did growing up, it's annoying as all get out.Yes and Fish is really bad about it, especially clicking on something only to realize it is a subscribe to his service type of deal.
Clowney can play the run so he's a much better player overall. Quinn is a pass rush specialist and should be viewed and paid as such.
Yea its rumors going out about this not just coming from fish. Plus Quinn is just a pass rusher and not good at run stopping. Clowney has played end, tackle and olb so I'd at least see his value out there
Stephens way leads to 8-8..
He keeps the cap under control because he only likes our guys so he relies on rookies to be our upgrade from the previous season.
It's a good way to stay mediocre.
I want to be great or terrible.. This mediocre spot is the worst spot to be in.
Being terrible for 1 year landed us Zeke.
I would love to be terrible enough to draft a QB or a player like one of the Bosa's.
more like dumb cop, smart cop. jerry's the former.Makes you wonder if they use the good cop bad cop tactic in a locked room during negotiations.
LolAm I reading this right that Clowney only had a mere 3 sacks ..in 13 games last year in 2019 ?
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/ClowJa00.htm
the heck with that ... i'll take the pass rush specialist Quinn and his 11 sacks in 14 games anytime.... over Clowney's mere 3 sacks in 13 games.
witten was a progress stopper for pro bowler and even super bowl winner martellus bennett.Same thing Witten did to Gathers. Bassturd kept Rico out of the HOF.
I actually think thats gone away since he moved to SIYes and Fish is really bad about it, especially clicking on something only to realize it is a subscribe to his service type of deal.
Smells like clickbait. (Fisher not OP)
