That's pretty bad.

One reason why I preferred the Japanese style of professional wrestling... It was far more "stiff" meaning everything was carried to a degree that wasn't too far away from being real.

WWE is still screwing talented wrestlers over. Ember Moon vs Asuka in NXT was awesome and Moon can't even get on TV.

Vince really has been using Asuka to get over Becky and Charlotte hoping that would be like Trish vs Lita back in the day. It is not working!!

Too many talented wrestlers are wasted in the WWE. Why is Bayley champ?? She is boring as can be!! Braun Strowman should be the champ over Lesnar. Others not even getting a push. Keith Lee needs to be called up.

Ember Moon is injured with a ruptured Achilles.

So I was out of town last night staying at a hotel. Flipping channels I saw RAW was coming on. I tuned in but only made it through the opening segment. It was sorta just eh for me. I switched channels to transformers the last knight.

What a great card. I wish I could have been there for that. Just to see Keil Auditorium and Flair's figure-four leg lock.

I didn't know about O'Connor being Studd!

From 2/18/80

Courtesy of The History of WWE

From Madison Square Garden

1) Austin Idol defeated Jose Estrada at 7:26 (Idol's only MSG appearance)

2) Tommy Rich defeated Johnny Rodz at 7:41 (Rich's only MSG appearance)

3) Hulk Hogan defeated WWF Tag Team Champion Tito Santana via count-out at 10:48

4) Sika defeated WWF Tag Team Champion Ivan Putski via count-out at 5:28

5) Bobby Duncum defeated Dominic DeNucci at 11:21

6) WWF World Champion Bob Backlund defeated Ken Patera via count-out at 15:37; Pat Patterson was the special referee for the bout

7) Afa defeated Rene Goulet at 9:18

8) Cowboy Lang & Lone Eagle defeated Little Tokyo & Dirty Morgan at 6:55

9) Tony Atlas defeated Hussein Arab at 12:18

Nice card.

Patera was miffed that he did not get a brief title run as a heel champ in the then WWWF. But he was a good soldier and was rewarded by being a long-time Intercontinental Champ and had two series with Backland in MSG was Backlund was champion.

This version of Hulk Hogan was as a heel. He would remain a heel until he left in the summer of 1981 to join Verne Gagne's AWA.

Heard Taker is gearing up for another WM match against Styles this year. I really wish he'd retire. There's nothing left to do. He's had one of the best careers in the business. Take a bow and go rest!!!

That is true. I got word from a Styles family member about this last week. Also heard if doesn't get used properly the rest of his contract that he will walk away rather than sign a new deal. He's upset at the poor storyline he has to work with the last few months. I don't blame him and have told others before this could happen if Vince doesn't fix it soon.

I agree. They seem to have pushed him down the card a bit for no reason. And if he's not with them, Gallows & Anderson are treated like garbage.

If he does go up against the Undertaker, I hope Styles goes over. Taker doesn't work enough at this point for his 'win' to mean anything and you would be damaging the rep of one of your company's best workers, if not the best.

Looks like they will push Shayna Bazler in the Elimination Chamber match vs Becky Lynch for WrestleMania and again Asuka has to put another wrestler over.(Gail Kim treatment)... I want Asuka and if you have watched the last couple of RAWs you hear chants of Asuka ,Asuka,Asuka even if she is with Kairi Sane.... They are not coming from the speaker system either to start the crowd up.It is coming from the fans.....Keep cussing Bazler and when Vince loses some commercial endorsements, you will be toast.

Can't find a Spoiler option so beware. The following is Spoilers for anyone who hasn't watched or read the results of Super Showdown.

Man what is WWE doing? I love Goldberg as a part timer and nostalgic draw but there is no way he should have won against The Fiend. Bray Wyatt's gimmick is the hottest thing in wrestling right now. He was built up so well and then to have him squashed in a quick match against a part timer? I just don't see the logic here. It's such a waste. Let Bray go over. Give him even more credibility as an unstoppable monster. Let it all build up to a WM match with another rising star! Can't believe what happened.

The whole show is a disgrace, and something that I will never even dignify to watch. I read the results and they sicken me.

Your best gimmicks and workers sacrificed to some money-grubbing part-timers, most of who's can't even work anymore.

It's an insult to them and to the entire fanbase. And that senile old fool has now ruined his own Wrestlemania in the process. I guess losing hundreds of millions again on a failed vanity football project wasn't enough damage. Now he's managed to torpedo his own biggest show of the year as well.
