Simple no.

We couldn't afford The Clown if we wanted too.

"Simply put, he wants to be one of the highest-paid defensive players in the NFL, if not the highest-paid, above Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack. Clowney is now 27 years old and entering his prime, so he will likely receive the highest payday of his career, despite registering only three sacks with Seattle in 2019. The statistics do not tell the full story, as Clowney has won a sizable number of one-on-one matchups throughout the season." - SeahawksWire

Clowney can play the run so he's a much better player overall. Quinn is a pass rush specialist and should be viewed and paid as such.

Being known as a pass rush specialist kinda hurts us, doesn’t it?

The dude wants to set the market, and we already overpaid on Lawrence. Not happening.

Can't see how Clowney would see elite money.

2019 3 sks, 1 int, 4 ff
2018 9 sks, 1 ff
2017 9.5 sks, 2 ff
2016 6 sks, 1 ff
2015 4.5 sks, 1 ff
2014 0 sks
Exactly. The though of him setting the market is insane. I wouldn't go beyond 2 years and I probably would not go beyond 10 million per year. I bet he wouldn't even live up to that. He is looking to retire. Lucky for us Jerruh only like handing out retirement packages to the clowns that he drafts.

Yep. Green Bay for example went after the right side of our defensive line with great success running the ball.

They see Quinn on the field, audible to a run, then either run straight at him or one cut. Boom, first down!

Watch the Aaron Jones week 6 highlights and you will see Quinn and Covington repeatedly leaving holes to run through. Quinn would take an outside rush while Covington would get steamrolled laterally by the C/G.

Get a run stuffing DT and line Quinn up all over to confuse? Use more safety and LB blitzes?

Marinelli could certainly coach up DL JAGS, but the scheme was so simple and predictable!

If an idiot like me can see it, why couldn’t they? Are they that stubborn, or did they simply have a different agenda?

Clowney is the better player.

Quinn will be the better bargain.

I dont see Jerry spending what it's going to take for Clowney for a defensive player.

Especially if his buddy 94 comes back, which it looks like he may.
