Sounds very useful in short yardage and goal line. That's a specialty that's worth something.

This is one area that Marinelli's philosophy on getting the quick, fast DTs really breaks down. It leaves you relatively weak in short yardage.

It's a failure of Marinelli's scheme on its own terms. If you're going to "bend but don't break", you better be good at stopping teams in the red zone.

Note that for all the moaning, we did quietly get significantly bigger at DT. Woods at 318 and Collins at 308 were a decent sized pair.

Not sure this is why but ALOT of teams this year Cap situation sucks so some known names will ne available because of money reasons
Including some of our FAs.

Quinn has value. But his coming here from Miami was a discounted deal where he lowered his contract to come to Dallas.

But now he will price himself out of our cap.

Byron Jones the same way.

Randall Cobb the same.

So it cuts both ways. The thing that bugs me is we always wait to sign until the big names are signed and look for bargains.

Not exactly aggressive stuff and we clearly are rebuilding.

We will see.

Exactly...I'm not sure Quinn is going to get a whole bunch hes not good against the run. Cobb shouldnt break the bank either hes fallen off bit. Byron is going to be tough. He wants to stay but will probably depend on if he REALLY wants to stay and take a few less millions

Sign this guy tomorrow.

He is exactly what we dont have.

With him, Cheech, and Chong all signed this team got instantly better before anyone was allowed to make moves.

He wont provide much as far as rush but is still a premier run stuffer.

Two years ago yes. What does he have left and why is he being cut? Didn’t see him play at all last year.
The key to the future is and has been about draft capital, you have to elevate your draft stock each and every year, that's the key to success in todays fast moving, elevating contracts.
Keeping it young is keeping it cheap...er.
Guys like Snacks, is yesterdays half eaten bag of Cheetos..
Old rosters don't win anymore,, its a FO game.. not the negative the positive ..front office.
That's the game we have now love it or leave it,, its all about draft prep, and bringing in homerun hitters, and then you fill the
holes through FA, you do not build through FA.

I agree but you can still get something out of some veterans. Look at Robert Quinn and Randall Cobb for us last year.

Well, hope he finds peace in which ever option he chooses.

Would love to sign him if he wanted to continue to play. Can't see why he couldn't be a great depth DT/subbed in on obvious run down situations.

I’m all for it.

But he contemplated retirement earlier and that worries me.

But the dude legitimately has been the best run stuffer in the league for a long time

He is expensive. Someone will beat us to him. Would be a great pick up but I see us doing DT in the draft.

no he doubts the pros vs cons of playing. Like many smart players are doing these days.
His words not mine.

By the end of the 2019 season, Harrison said he was contemplating retirement after he played through a multitude of injuries and "wasn't able to ever get back to the form I'm used to." Harrison, who turned 31 in November, said if he felt he couldn't return to being the player he had been in prior seasons, he would walk away.
