Tua saw how Jaylon was treated by the Cowboys with a major injury and sets his sights on the pot of gold.

Cool. Threaten to hold out to pick 17, lose all that guaranteed money and make your dream a reality.

He’s short. And unproven. Yup. Let’s drop Dak and bring him in.

Tua is listed as 6'1", Dak is listed at 6'2"

I mean, if Dak can see over this line, I don't think an inch difference will make or break a QB.

Not arguing any other point, but the height doesn't mean that much in this instance.
One thing if he was Kyler Murray short.

How do you know that? Nobody thought Mahomes was going to be who he is now. Tua is the hire rated quarterback at the same stage. I know the draft is different now but the Cowboys were smart to draft Walsh when they had Aikman. The Skins should do the same. Lord knows the quarterback they drafted last year is no Aikman.

I think if you're shooting for the moon with Tua I think he could be the next Steve Young, a more mobile Brees, Russell Wilson with a better passing skill set.

Mahomes is just on another planet when it comes to talent.

I'm starting to move off height being that important since we are starting to see it not be a factor for these guys.

I still see height as a concern but if Kyler Murray can make it in the NFL there is hope for a lot of guys.

Yea, to me it's that not that big of a deal either. Murray I was hesitant about, but also cause he was also thin playing at OU. Bulked up for the combine but IIRC lost the weight afterwards.

Tua in college had shown great placement, arm strength and reads. Sure he's had a few dud games, like the Clemson NCG but I can't expect a QB to be flawless his entire career. Even Lawrence had some "bad" games this year but got bailed out by his talented core.

They are all unproven, obviously, but I feel this class especially with Tua has a better shot compared to previous years where guys like Darnold, Mayfield, Goff and Tribsucky get overdrafted due to need for a QB.

Tua, at least before his hip injury was a top draft pick because of his play and not his position.

If Kyler Murray doesn’t fall on his face in the NFL then Tua is going to be more then fine.

I really don’t get why you guys think he is going to bust. He has intangibles and he is one of the more natural passers I’ve seen coming out of college. It’s instinctual for him. Like a RB with great vision.

Yep! His accuracy is UNCANNY! Build an offensive line around him (we have one), and this kid is going to be dynamite. He will, however, have to learn what RG III didn't, and that is to get out of bounds, get down and protect your body against huge defensive linemen. But if he can do those things, which are teachable, I don't see him busting at all. In fact, I see him as the next miniature Dan Marino. His release and accuracy are on par with him.

I don’t know you are right. But I don’t know about Haskins either and it’s too early to tell.

I do know though that history says guys with injuries like Tua in college don’t come in the pros and light it up. I’d take a flyer on him but just not with a high pick. I’m not in the business of drafting a red shirt in the first round. I didn’t even like when we did it in the second round with Jaylon.

Would be too hard to pass on Tua if he made it to Dallas pick. Still feel he needs to sit a year even if healthy
Exactly. He won't play this year. The team that drafts him is going to want to get him in a rehabilitation program (NFL style) and let him learn the playbook just like Mahomes did.

Barring injury propensity, Tua is the next Mahomes. If you're going to gamble, might as well gamble on huge upside.

I had faint hope of going up and getting him but in mocks he’s going higher and higher. I think he was 3rd overall in Kiper’s latest.
I think he goes at the 2 spot and MIA trades into that spot with concern about DET either taking him or trading down.

Franchise Dak and if Tua falls take him and let him learn.

No way our FO is thinking QB with the first round pick. Way to many holes to fill in the secondary.

I couldn't object if he dropped to an affordable level and it didn't take much to bring him into the fold.

Barring such a development, a promising defensive player is infinitely more likely to be our first pick.

Tua to the Commanders would actually be an interesting move. It'd be like Rosen and Murray last year - even if your rookie QB deserves another shake, dump his *** and go with the new-guy stud.

But if I were the Lions, I wouldn't be kicking Stafford out of town just yet. He's getting old, but he was playing at a top 5 level before injury last year. Dude was playing his best football maybe ever, and at 32 he's got at least 2 or 3 peak years left in the tank. That's enough window where I would try building an OL and defense for him rather than have a guy like Tua sitting on the bench.

Well that’s because Rosen sucks. He should’ve never been drafted that high. Haskins is a little harder to get away from.
