I’m all for it.

But he contemplated retirement earlier and that worries me.

But the dude legitimately has been the best run stuffer in the league for a long time

Yes, I would pass. He is still contemplating retirement from what I understand. Parcells used to have a saying, "If a player is thinking about retirement then he has already retired."

Sorry, I'm going to pull a Mickey here, but why is this guy always available?

Giants traded him for cap relief. Lions cut him to retool their defense. They traded Diggs for little return last year and may move on from Slay.

Today please.

But...itll be the usual...they cant sign him for peanuts so he will end up somewhere else.

Not saying break the bank on the guy but he is a little more than your average DL...on 1st and 2nd down anyway. Provides stout in the middle and we need that from all possible sources.

Cant go into a draft saying we are going after DT, and they cant afford to bring in the cream of the FA crop.

If he is halfway reasonable on salary I get him signed.

Isn't Suh a FA this year, surprised his name hasn't been brought up yet.

Not sure if I say pass or a couldn't hurt type deal. So will say let's wait and see if some team over pays them. Take care of our own FA's first. Or decide what direction to go.
Are these any better at this point than who we have as our own FA's, and even Crawford.

Good adds to an already robust DT market...maybe DAL can get a good one.

Snacks Harrison is a available now, anyone interested?

He is basically what we have needed for about 12 years

He is 32 and still playing high level
Not according to him he isn’t.

Garrett would probably go after him because he loves taking the Detroit Lions' sloppy seconds.

Fat Mike is probably gonna pass.

Exactly...I'm not sure Quinn is going to get a whole bunch hes not good against the run. Cobb shouldnt break the bank either hes fallen off bit. Byron is going to be tough. He wants to stay but will probably depend on if he REALLY wants to stay and take a few less millions
If they want Jones they can probably figure it out. The OL contracts surely have monies to rework that should help.

Zeke's deal can probably be reworked and Jaylon's. Amari has to be reworked also.

I think Cobb maybe unaffordable if he wants more than his $5 mil. We might be better served taking that money and signing a FA TE to help that position.

Dak relies on TEs for getting pressure off of him to avoid sacks. Jarwin just does not impress me blocking at all. So he is a tweeter to me.

He is a luxury we probably can not afford unless he is more complete. The way he is, he tips off the play when he comes in the game.

Then there is Witten. Do we resign him and wait until next year to look for TE?

And if Cobb is not resigned, do we draft a slot receiver? There are lots of receivers in this draft..should we draft one?

Otherwise..

If they take one of the safeties in the draft at 17..

the secondary should improve.

My question for the secondary is what coverages are they going to play the majority of the time?

Last year it was said we were not good in Zone.So what type of safety are we looking for? We desperately need the TEs covered.

So how do we do that?

Oh I'd like to have him, but only on a 1 year deal for cheap, not going to sign a 32 year old guy long term.

I think if he plays it will only be for a contender, Dallas certainly is, maybe he'd like to go to a dome team like the Cowboys...

I hear ya. I'm not so sure about the CBs minus Jones. Dont know if either one can be The 1 CB. If cobb comes back cool if not he didnt make that big of an impact on the field to me and alot of drops so either way meh. If jason comes back I'm still drafting a young guy with has to know hes nothing more than a situational te at this point. Quinn I like just not at market value. Jawrin is still a big ? To me all I know is he ha sa speed and cant block well. Might let Witt go and go after ebron or let jawrin go and pair with with ebron idk
