You are correct on that. But now I'll ask you if those same people ever then get in their cars to drive?
.
They don't care about that. They don't care that there is no way to meausre a DUI with marijuana either. They just want their drugs!

And by the way, I have no problem with medicinal use marijuana with a script.

Just saying weed is still illegal federally and in most states and you can still get cited or arrested for possession.

Kareem Hunt could of been cited for a blunt if the cop wanted to do so. In the end that video/audio got released so it still was a whammy anyways for Hunt.

You can be caught with 157lb of booze in you car, if it's in bags in the back of the truck. Not so much weed.

Not according to the Constitution...but sadly, we don't follow that in this country. js

Yes many people use weed for pain or other medical conditions like cancer and glaucoma but none of those people are playing a extreme contact sport. You also omitted the fact that medical studies have proven that using weed slows reflexes and affects memory both very much needed for football. Should employers that employee people that use heavy equipment stop testing for drug use that includes weed? Those policies are there for the safety of the employees. It's not being on any high horse if you understand why there are policies against using weed or why there are still laws for being Under the Influence while driving or DUI.
.
I'm talking about the benefits of cannabis, for pain relief, treatment of PTSD, treatment of seizures. I never said go smoke a joint and then get in a car and drive. I don't know of any studies that prove long term affects on memory and slow reflexes. Temporary maybe. You must think I'm advocating that during timeouts the water boys bring out Gatorade and joints. Don't try and change the narrative to try and prove a point.

I wonder if MM will be the kind of coach whose idea of an RKG will continually change with the teams needs.

Technically yes and he was lucky he didn't get stopped. The difference as far as the NFL was concerned was that the team physicians gave the to him so any thing that would have shown up in any of his drug tests wouldn't get him suspended. He voluntarily went into rehab a couple of times the last time was for alcohol.

I hope Gregory gets to come back. In his situation with Bi-polar, the other medications have really bad side effects. If marijuana produces the same "relief" without the personality side effects I think he should be allowed to get a script and use it.

I don't have the same opinion for recreational use though!

Gregory's a bum! Shame he has one more season left on his contract. He could have reinstated last season (2019) but chose not to. Had he actually tried to return last year it probably would have been approved.

The league allowed Josh Gordon to come back in 2019 despite an even worse track record than Gregory's, which was indicative of the softening viewpoint around marijuana use that led to this revised policy.

Gordon was conditionally reinstated in August, just in time for the start of the 2019 season.

That said, Gregory's been out 2 complete seasons & hasn't shown any enthusiasm whatsoever. Quinn filled the hole nicely.

Randy has been away from the game for too long. Him getting reinstated is not big news. The new CBA however, is big news and it will help other players. The players union better not take too long to approve this agreement. Football in 2021 will be so much better.

how has he been away too long? he's been away a year. no different than an injury

I still have nightmares when thinking about the movie reefer madness. and I don't think anyone here or in the nfl is espousing the use of pot while on the job. that's stretching the argument to the point of absurdity.

Why is it so absurd? People out in the every day world take a little weed before going to work so why is so absurd that now that there won't be any suspensions for weed that some players won't do a little weed before practice or going to meetings or even games?

You must be one of those type people that get offended if I self medicate in my own home. Who am I hurting? Their isn't a state in the this country that cares about that as long as I moderate and keep it to myself. One of my neighbors is a deputy sheriff and has no problem what so ever if I self medicate in my own home. So who the hell are you to object? You have no idea how much of a difference it makes to a cancer patient's quality of life. I'm sure the same is true for these athletes that get there bodies beat up every weekend. Recreational use is one thing but medical use is a blessing. Don't tread on me, man!!!

I've got some very bad news for you. If anyone in a state that still has laws for possession or use those laws do still count whether in your own home. That like saying that there are cyber laws against tapping into bank accounts but if you do at home they can't arrest you. Because you have a neighbor who is turning a blind eye does not maker it legal. Some people have guys that they call uncle that really aren't your uncle but have been life long friends of your parents. Well I had one of those when I was a kid and he was the county sheriff and after I got my license he took care of a couple of speeding tickets I got. Now if any of the county executives were around when he did I'm sure he wouldn't have because he would been trouble if he did. I'll bet that if your neighbor was seen or known to have looked the other way and his captain found out he would have to answer to him for not making an arrest.

Now if you're talking about prescribe drugs, yes you can self medicate, but not with drugs that are not prescribed to you.

I have no problem with people that have a prescription either but then they also have to in a state that allows the use for medical reason with a prescription.

There is ways to catch weed user who drive. I know of two states that if drugs are suspected instead of doing a breathalyzer the officer can take the person to a clinic or hospital and have blood drawn and a pee sample. The bad thing about a conviction for weed while driving is unlike if it's alcohol the drive can apply for permission to drive to and from work and the police install a breathalyzer type thing that has to register clean to start the car. The cops get info from the employer on the work schedule and based on how far he lives from work is when they set the earliest time he can leave for work and what time he has to be home from work. Once a week he is allotted extra time so he can stop and buy groceries.. Weed user can't get that device because it doesn't measure weed so when their license is suspended, they can't drive period.

I never said the water boy thing or actually using during a game. The point I've made a couple of times is players could smoke some weed BEFORE they go to practice or meetings or a game.

I didn't find the article I first look at but it only took a couple of seconds to find this one that does state there are long term memory problems and problems with the motor functions which is reflexes.

Yes I drink beer and sometimes a shot here and there. And yes I've driven after and I also know that I could get stopped. I usually try to get a friend to go so he runs the risk.

You realize that alcohol is much more damaging to your health than cannabis and that it has no benefits whatsoever?
