Football is a dangerous sport and any one play can be your last. A guy who plays that game is being told to take less - sheesh..

I agree; Dak shouldn't take less.
He should hold out until he finds another team who will pay him what he thinks he's worth.
The Cowboys should tag him with the non-exclusive tag and move on with their two number one picks, because they will probably be very good number ones with Dak playing quarterback for that team.

LOL.....I like your......optimism, yeah! Optimism!

doesnt need to happen, its easier looking at it it as Dak wants too much Jerry wont pay it because he also wants short years,,SO Non Exclusive FT he gets maybe 30 on the tag, seeks offers noone bites on but Dak may hold out , We replace Rush with Keenum, Fitz, or Maroitta, then we draft Fromm/Hurts in the 4th..

Dak holds out we are covered, if he doesnt we have better backup and our draft pick starts learning the system and working with this new staff..2021 we trade dak for whatever we can get IE Tag him let him seek deals but make a less then the 2 firsts and get a 1 and 3 for him and let the QB we drafted start and if need be and we choke up 2020 we go after a top 10 QB next draft..

you dont just let a starter WALK FREE..have plan execute it..this staff is supposed to be better right? let them figure out a new process to ease out from Dak and 35mil for above average..build team with the new QB in mind starting this off season.. HAVE A PLAN..
I like your plan. The only disagreement would be someone giving up a 1 for Dak. IMO tops would be a 2 and a lower round pick.

No, he's not. He's being asked to take a good contract w/ a reasonable amount.

Saying that he's being asked to take less takes for granted that he's top 5. He's not.

Many people have said he should take less, the latest being Emmitt Smith.

For much of the past year, quarterback Dak Prescott has refused to bow to a campaign by the Cowboys to get him to take less. It has culminated most recently in Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith -- who held out for two regular-season games in order to get paid in 1993 -- joining [more]

Time that everyone start waking up to the reality that maybe Jerrah has finally come to his senses and realized Dak is not an elite QB and not worth the money.
Argue all you will about his stats and how he’s shown improvement.
Elite QB’s should win against teams with a winning record
Elite QB’s should be able to play consistently week in week out. Not show flashes of brilliance in one game and be inconsistent the next
Elite QB’s can play and welcome the challenge when faced with adversity, Prescott just gets more inconsistent and erratic
and what sealed it for me with regards to Mr Prescott is the following...
257 yards, 3-14 on 3rd downs and 3 field goals against an Egals team with a secondary made up of players who were stocking shelves at Home Depot the week before.
Argue all you want, it’s Garrets fault, or the receivers, or whatever strikes your fancy, that statistically he had a great year... sure if most of your yardage and stats came while your team was trailing by double digits and the opposing defense was playing you soft and running out the clock... how many games did Dak win when trailing in the 3rd quarter last season?
Truth is Mr elite QB was anything but...

Jerrah should dangle him as trade bait and see who bites then move up the draft board.

Let’s see how well Dak does elsewhere...

Time to realize that he is not the QB that’s going to take this team to the SB, no matter who the HC is and the talent level around him...
stop making excuses to cover his misgivings as a QB...

You can use whatever euphemism you want - ultimately it boils down to demanding that Dak take less.
