Imagine if KC was like we don’t need Pat Mahomes.. We got Alex Smith.. We just need to bolster the entire team.

The difference is, the Chiefs kept Smith and traded up for Mahomes. They didn't let Smith walk or trade him before drafting (and seeing) what they had in Mahomes. If the Cowboys did this with Tua, I would have no problem with it. But... While we're imagining things.... can we also imagine if the Eagles had traded up for Wentz? Or the Broncos had traded up for Lynch? What would've happened if the Bears had traded up for Trubisky? Or the Cardinals had traded up for Rosen? Hmmm... I guess that knife cuts both ways. Maybe the Cowboys should tag Dak and see how the draft plays out before mortgaging the future.

Yeah, this team should go in a different direction at QB but they won't. It's not even a thought they are entertaining. They have their bum. They just have to get him signed. That's their entire focus and it's a huge mistake. Add it to their list.

Wouldn’t trade up for a QB who suffered a serious hip jury. He might need a hip replacement in a few years. The Cowboys history of drafting injured players hasn’t worked out real well. You not only need a consistent QB but you need one who’s going to be available.

I would trade Dak to any team in the top 5 for their pick - straight up.
I believe you would. It makes no sense at all but I Do believe you would. Many like you would too. And you'd be stuck in the same 8-8 mediocrity Jason Garrett and Jerry Jones mustered up. Probably would be worse than that.

I'd say its worked out the best it possibly could. Jaylon and Sean Lee were solid. But I'm not in the business of drafting a guy with a pick as a red shirt. That guy should be a starter for me if he's taken in the 1st two rounds and depending on the position maybe even the 3rd round too.

I would trade up for a QB who suffered a brain injury rather than paying Prescott.

Lee has been solid but he’s missed a ton of games. It took Jaylon three seasons to start playing well and he appeared to have taken a step back last season. He still can’t run fluidly. Tua suffered an ankle and hip injury last season. Whoever drafts him will be drafting a player they haven’t seen play a football game since that hip injury. There’s always some risk drafting a QB but he’s going to be carrying some extra risk.

Of course you would............with so many continuous dumb posts against everything Cowboys confirms you're an eagles fan just here to stir the pot.....about 80% of your coveted "likes" are mainly the same cronies.

Tua has had two ankle injuries and a hip injury that required surgery. You’re taking a huge risk drafting an injury prone player high in the draft, especially one who’s coming off hip surgery who plays the most important position on your team. He may have talent but the injuries carry a big red flag for me especially a hip injury that required surgery.

What about the risk with a QB who isn't good enough taking up a significant percentage of your salary cap for many years to come? That's not risky?

Anyone but paying a QB like Prescott a long term deal at 30 plus million a year, yes.

If you don’t want to pay him 30 million a season then you’ll end up with ta castoff as your starting QB or a rookie QB who may never pan out. Good luck competing for a Super Bowl with those options next season.

All you SCOUTS in here crack me up. You should apply for a scouting jobs in the NFL....LMAO. Or maybe in your local peewee league. You same ones said he wouldn't get better after his 2nd year. QB is not what we need.

Doug Gottlieb: Cowboys should trade up and draft Tua Tagovailoa 'We've seen Dak's ceiling' (VIDEO)

In a recent interview, Tua Tagovailoa said that he would enjoy playing for the Dallas Cowboys. Hear Doug Gottlieb make a case for the Cowboys to let Dak Prescott walk in order to trade up and select Tua in the 2020 NFL Draft.

This video makes total sense.

Been saying this so often people here are puking.

But taking Daks money and using it elsewhere and Amari Coopers contract money the same way..

makes perfect sense.
I don't disagree with him. But the question is who do you trade with?

1. Cincy (replacing Dalton)
2. Washington (Haskins with a new coach)?
3. Detroit (needs to replace Stafford)
4. NY Giants (maybe?)
5. Miami (not happening)
6. Chargers (replacing Rivers)
7. Carolina (replacing Newton)
8. Arizona (possible)
9 Jacksonville (Is Gardner Minshew their guy?)
10. Cleveland (maybe)
I would trade our 17 pick to Detroit and take Stafford.

Behind our OL, he would throw for 6,000 yards.

He is just like Rodgers, would be the foundation of the offense. No learning curves with Stafford.

Accuracy is primary in the WCO. Dak is not that. He is a mismatch for the WCO.

Stafford would need a new deal to agree to be traded. But it will be nowhere close to Dak's.

Staffords biggest issues are interceptions. But that has been becuz Detroit has no other offensive weapons.

We do.

Detroit can use our pick to rebuild. They can sign Tua or Dak. I do not think we want a rookie QB with such an injury history as Tua.

We pulled off Jaylon but not sure you want to keep making high draft picks your reclamation projects.

And if you let Dak go, depending on Amari's deal..

You let him walk or not. I would sign him for Strafford to throw deep passes to. Seems logical.

And then you resign Jones on defense. Draft a DL or CB with your 2nd draft pick.

Lots of options..lots.

He came within 1 yard of setting the ALL TIME Cowboys passing yardage record. You and the other Dak haters look stupid everytime you hate on Dak. Keep it up, it's entertaining.

He was good enough to put up almost 5000 yards last season, only one yard off the franchise record with a passer rating of 99.7. When Romo passed for almost 5000 yards in 2012 he had more INT’s, fewer TD passes and a lower passer rating than Dak had last season. Dak was good enough to toss 30 TD passes in 2019 and only two QBs threw for more. He was the reason we led the NFL in offense. He carried us in some games. He passed 400 yards three times last season, missing a fourth 400 yard game by 3 yards.

He passed for a career high 463 yards against a Packers team that made it to the NFC title game and 397 yards against Minnesota who also made it to the NFC title game. With the money QBs are being paid these days several are taking up a significant percentage of their teams salary cap. You need a solid QB to have a chance to win a Super Bowl, which is why QBs are being paid so much money. The Cowboys aren’t going to compete for a championship with some of the QBs fans are coming up with to replace Dak.
