2020 NFL strength of schedule: Cowboys, Ravens and Steelers have it easiest

Well if this is true, how have the Giants benefited more than the Cowboys. I already gave specific examples of how they have had it worse than the Cowboys, IMOF, come to think of it...I believe the year they won 2? games or last year (doesn’t really matter) they had a harder strength of schedule then we did and we went to the playoffs, how is that?

I agree we’re the most hated, just look at some of the fans on this board. Is it any surprise? I’m embarrassed by over half the Cowboys fans I work with.

Being we are the biggest draw, haters use that as a reason to argue we get a lot of calls to go our way and things like have another easy strength of schedule. The further we go in the playoffs, the more money the league makes and the better the ratings are. It can easily be argued that Goodell wants us to do good because the better the ratings, the more secure his job. Therefore, Goodell tells the officials to ease up on us because he wants us to win. Makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?

Hell, we even get more prime time games than the previous years Super Bowl winners most years, why is that? Because we draw the ratings and Jerry feeds the Kool Aid drinking hype fans. So since we get so many prime time games, it would make sense they want us in the playoffs and want us to go far, right? The league does it’s best every year (with the exception of the Zeke suspension) to put us in the playoffs and we can’t get out of our own way.

The reason it makes no sense is because the schedule is a rotation and there is no randomness to it. 6 in your division, 4 from one AFC conference rotating every year, 4 from one other division in the NFC rotating every year, and the two teams from the other 2 divisions with the same record as you. I suspect this will change if they add a game but for most of the past 10 years you could have picked a year and I could have told you 14 of the 16 opponents the Cowboys 2-3 years out.

Meaningless. Its a year to year league. We just saw SF go from 4-12 to the super bowl. So, what looks like a bad team on paper can easily get much better in the offseason. Washington and NY should be much better on defense next year.
True. I think Wentz and Goff should have a better year.

I think that they just want Dallas as one of the main topics of discussion, but the Cowboys can get that WITHOUT playoff success. We have the largest fanbase, so as a contender to MAKE the playoffs, they get the rating$. But because an even larger segment is invested in watching Dallas fail IN the playoffs, they get the rating$ there too, Big ratings are built into the AFCCG and NFCCG, as well as the Super Bowl, and they can add to it by including Dallas news and coverage during the big games.

Sure, there are TONS of annoying Dallas fans, but every team has too many jerks. Maybe you notice it more because it’s your team. Maybe we also have one of the top 3 entitled fanbases because we’re in the top 3 for winning tradition.
Eh...good points and nice post, not much to add or argue there. Have a good one, until next time conspiracy theorist :angry:

I agree. It DOES happen to every team, and we DO notice it much more when it concerns our team, but two things....

1)Mara and Goodell ARE besties
2)The Cowboys ARE the biggest draw, as well as the most hated.

With all the money involved, and all the malfeasance that has occurred in the sports world, it’s not odd that many people connect the dots.

Dude, the schedule rotation is completely objective and was set back in 2002. Every single team is on the same rotation, and the opportunities for the number of away and home games against all 31 other teams is exactly 50/50.

How can the schedule opponents possibly be part of a conspiracy?

@aria ?

Dude, I never connected the league’s scheduling to a conspiracy. You made that assumption yourself.

I merely insinuated that the outcomes of certain games COULD be subject to malfeasance as it pertains to rating$. That’s based mostly on an abnormally high number of strange coincidences, countless cheats in the sports world throughout history, and of course human nature.
