Another wannabe scout that remembers a name but nothing else. The reason the Cowboys let Leary walk is because he has a degenerative knee condition and has already played much long than doctors thought he would be able to. The 3 seasons he's been with the broncos he hasn't played an entire season because of that knee. So now you remember the name and put it out there. Please let the professional scouts take care of scouting players.

Pft.... Dallas picked Leary up in 2012 as an undrafted FA. Taking him back would be like taking Dez back.

He also had no intention of staying here. He wasn't happy when they started Collins over him at LG and wanted out via trade before the 2016 season. They were supposedly were taking offers on him during the draft but never pulled the trigger.

No way. Xavier, McGovern, and/or Looney can battle for LG.

Williams has had knee surgery for 3 straight seasons so there's no way McCarthy will look at him as a long term full time starter going forward. I expect Williams to be moved to Swing tackle which will allow the front office to cut Cam Fleming and save $5 million
Isn't Looney a free agent?

Looney and Sua'Filo both are free agents. Sua'Filo should come back for cheap. Looney has some starts under his belt and could snag a starting job elsewhere

We need to develop the conners, William's and McGovern. Looney plays two positions. Sua plays well. We have young tackles should tyron smith retire. No room for leary any longer.

Depending on what you do with Sua Filo and Looney, they both could be gone. Looney is versatile and has starts under his belt. This is likely his last chance to go land a starting gig somewhere. Hopefully they are locked up if not we have some depth issues inside

I'm actually amazed he's still involved with football, assuming he still is.

From what I recall of him, he should have been in a wheelchair by now.

More than likely, the C'boys have backups that are way more desirable.

You need to tell everything. In 2015 Collins rookie season Leary again started the season as the starting LG and was already having problems with his left knee. He pulled his groin in training camp and by the 3rd week he couldn't start. Collins started the 3rd and 4th week and then Leary came back and again his left knee started to bother him. He was then inactive until the last game of the season but he got a concussion in the second half and had to leave. Then in the off season he held out of the off season program and voluntary workouts telling the Cowboys privately and publicly that he wanted to be traded. A couple of teams made offers but the Cowboys turned them down. Even though Leary was undrafted as a rookie, those teams were only offering 5th round picks for him. Again his left knee was bothering him and he was inactive for the first couple of weeks and then Collins got injured and Leary was back. At the end of the season the Cowboys decided that because Leary was already having problems with that left knee that had a degenerative condition, they chose to let him walk.

Don't really know how MM n Philbin prefers their OL, but I expect Ron to look for another pay day for the next year or two. This is where McGovern needs to be a hit of a draft pick. Hopefully, the FO re-signs XSF or Looney to help out.
